Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : AFTERMATH 02:42 - Mar 31 with 17246 views | NotLoyal | Friday 2nd April 2021 Once again the swans travel to a club inspired by a new manager in Lee Boyer, alol the signs are there for Steve Cooper as we return to the EFL Championship on Friday evening, LIVE on SKY TV. I’m back ya baddas, thanks for the thanks. Birmingham City v Swansea City St Andrews Kick off 8pm EFL Championship Match Officials TONY HARRINGTON Shaun Hudson and Jonathan Hunt Fourth Official : Joshua Smith Other games to be aware of on Good Friday Huddersfield Town v Nosey Little Brentford (12:30) Watford v Sheffield Wednesday (15:00) Preston North End v Norwich City (15:00) Barnsley v Reading (17:30) Team News Birmingham City have question marks over the availability of Scott Hogan and Ivan Sanchez for the Good Friday appointment with Swansea City. Head coach Lee Bowyer has revealed both have had injections to address issues they have been managing for several weeks. Sanchez has been labouring with a hernia and has missed time training, while Hogan has been playing with a back problem — but will train on Wednesday. Blues face third-placed Swansea at St Andrew’s on Friday evening in a televised encounter with a side looking to resuscitate their hopes of an automatic promotion place. Andre Ayew and Conor Hourihane will continue to be assessed ahead of Swansea City's Championship clash with Birmingham City. Ayew suffered a knock late on while playing for Ghana during the international break after Hourihane was withdrawn in the early stages of Swansea's defeat to Cardiff City with a hamstring issue. Steve Cooper has confirmed the pair have not trained ahead of Friday's trip to the Midlands, although they will be given the chance to prove their fitness for the clash with Lee Bowyer's side. "Andre’s back and everyone knows he had a bit of a knock," said the head coach. "Conor Hourihane came off against Cardiff so those two players have got a chance of playing but they’re not training at the moment. "We’ll see how it goes by the time Friday comes. Swansea Independent view Ayew and Hourihane will be subs on Friday with Lowe and Whittaker up front, Lowe playing a wider role. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/54663/swansea-city-need- https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/54622/this-is-it-no-more https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/swanseacity/news/54683/swansea-city-not-f Nothing More to follow, nothing more to say.

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 20:37 - Apr 2 by LittleEnglandJack | I'll give Freddie a bit of credit for that one but let's be honest, we could've stuck a telephone box in the goal and the result would've been the same. |
True but his record on penalty saves is impressive & might be getting into the heads of the taker.
Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 20:46 - Apr 2 with 1410 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | There we go, the first clear and obvious high ball that Woodman should come and easily claim, yet he's rooted to his line before the ball bounces 8 yards from his goal before falling over comically as it fortunately bounces out of play.

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 20:44 - Apr 2 by DwightYorkeSuperstar | We're a poorly coached team. We quite literally struggle to string three passes together. Players don't move into space, there's no clear direction or leadership on the pitch. Every player (perhaps apart from Grimes and Ayew) metaphorically defecates into their pants when they receive the ball and either aimlessly kick it forward or dribbles into an opponent with their head down at the floor. It's horrendous. It's embarrassing. It's exactly the same as what we saw under this fraud last season. |
They look like they’ve never played together before. Shocking.
| "Yossarian- the very sight of the name made him shudder. There were so many esses in it. It just had to be subversive" (Catch 22) |

Yeah, I probably was being a touch harsh. Penalty saving is one of the strongest parts of his game, and he's been one of our better penalty stoppers of recent years.

We were ok but have been getting gradually worse for a while. Limping towards the play offs but the football is awful.

Yes. If you think this is good coaching then really I can’t help you. We have a free kick 30 secs to go and stroke it backwards then lose it. That is bad coaching This is as Dwight says embarrassing unless you have low standards

And we never seem to pick up second balls meaning we can’t get any territory and are constantly pinned back.

If you think Woodman who saved that penalty is to blame for the fare we offered that 1st half, you need another hobby Dwighty.

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 20:53 - Apr 2 with 1312 views | AnotherJohn | Poor again, sadly. That free kick on the halfway line with about a minute to go in the half summed up our lack of ambition and poor execution. Rather than put it into the box, we faff around and the ball goes out for a throw-in almost level to where the kick was taken.

Just about? We're third aren't we? Top placed team within the play offs? Who's picked the players, formation and coached this 'exceptional defence' then? And that's this season. What was the excuse for reaching the play offs last season then?

Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 21:03 - Apr 2 with 1158 views | Joe_bradshaw | We have three defensively minded midfield players against fourth bottom. That results in the midfield being 30 yards behind the front two so hopeful punts forward in their general direction becomes the way we play. I know he’s lightweight and blows hot and cold but at least Dhanda tries to create and play between the lines and create.

God forbid! Who needs a player who can actually score, and takes shots on from outside the box? If that half proved one thing, it's that Hourihane was not at fault for our general inability to string a few passes together in midfield for the last 6 weeks. We can be just as awful when he's not playing, but without his goal threat.
Birmingham City v Swansea City : Matchday Thread : TEAMS on 21:08 - Apr 2 with 1111 views | DwightYorkeSuperstar | Bennett receives the ball from the goalkick. He has three or four easy passes on. Instead he dribbles himself into trouble and launches another 60 yard long ball out of play. No wonder Brendan took one look at him and realised he made a mistake.
