Budapest is a great city to visit. Food and beer are reasonable, especially if you stay away from the really touristy spots.
Do a trip on the Danube, it’s stunning during the day and also at night. There is a big castle on the Buda side of the river, there are the big open air spa’s, on the Pest side of the river there is the old town /Jewish quarter which is worth visiting, there are memorials at the synagogues which are very moving re the atrocities the Nazi’s committed. The House of Terror is another place you may want to visit, it’s a museum containing exhibits and a memorial to the victims of the Nazi and Soviet regimes that ruled the country at various points during the 20th Century. |  | | |

One of my favourite cities.
Definitely do one of the public open air spas (forget the private touristy ones) cheap as anything and they serve beer too!
Museum of terror - go and stand in one of the standing-up cells they used and then imagine being locked in with the door closed...claustrophobic doesn’t come close 😀

Haven't long come back from Budapest.It's a nice city, very large and sprawling with plenty to see.It has an excellent transport system like most European cities.It's not as cheap as many central or European cities either.There are plenty of bars there, so you should get a game on tv
We did the Szechenyi Thermal Baths. the water temp is lovely and there's a metro stop just yards from the building. We didn't book in advance just turned up and paid £15 each. we took a towel and flip flops , as they are mandatory
We went there expecting to find these hyped up ruin bars, but there are just a few and you have to queue to get in at nighttime, so we didn't bother.Budapest is well worth a visit, although not up there with Prague imo | | | |
