Can we do this..? 14:51 - Mar 19 with 8011 views | DaleyBrent | Lets have it right, if BBM keeps us up this year it will be absolutely nothing short of a monumental achievement. We're 4 points short, and our goal difference is now out of our hands and will certainly be the worst come the last day of the season so we are 5 points adrift. The fight for relegation is so fierce this year, unlike last year when Bury, MK & Northampton never really looking likely to survive. We're competing with 11 other teams who are fighting for the same thing who happen to have more fans, and more resources than us. The odds are against us, and anything short of a siege mentality from all supporters will confirm our doom. We're off to a good start points wise with Brian and we can definitely achieve what would probably be more unthinkable than last years fight. If BBM even comes close to keeping us up does he deserve a crack at the job next season?! I hope I'm not the only fan out there who is embracing the run in and thinking we can achieve the impossible again. Up the Dale! Can we do this..?

Can we do this..? on 15:06 - Mar 19 with 7969 views | rochdale_ranger | They should of got rid of Hill five games ago to give BBM a better chance I still think it’s achievable and our last two games have given me a lot of hope. Having a bigger pool of teams down in the mire will benefit us I think. If we do stay up it will be a bigger feat then last season for team and management.
Can we do this..? on 17:05 - Mar 19 with 7793 views | PGB | A siege mentality from all supporters won't help much. Loud and active support will encourage. The manager using all his experience and knowledge and the players playing above their potential might.

You are being very generous to Hill and Beech they should have gone sooner than 5 games ago. They should have gone once it was clear Dunphy had been ousted the writing was on the wall then.

Can we do this..? on 16:21 - Mar 20 with 7217 views | seasidedale | On the bbc website (can’t do links) there is a very good article on manager interviews, you can see where clubs go wrong and right. Interesting to see how much of the process our board follow
Can we do this..? on 16:23 - Mar 20 with 7215 views | dingdangblue | We will certainly know our fate better on Saturday: 3 points for us and a few teams above us playing each other would mean a few dropping points and we could find ourselves with a much better chance of survival (especially with our game in hand v Accy). On the other hand defeat on Saturday could be a massive nail in our coffin. The current form table makes interesting reading, Wycombe and Southend both in freefall and Wimbledon with promotion form.

3 huge welcome points amazing what a win does to the league table. I posted on the match thread we are alive and kicking with 8 games to go. 3 more wins and 2 draws leaves room for 3 more defeats and we still would have a squeak. Up the Dale.... encouraged after yesterdays second half showing where we were excellent.
Can we do this..? on 11:20 - Mar 24 with 6468 views | D_Alien | IMO, another thing that became imperative after yesterday is that the board don't rock the boat any further by making an appointment in place of BBM. And i'll stick by that even if we go down It was just so refreshing to watch football being played as it's intended to be played, on a difficult surface. That's something that could count in our favour in the run-in, now we've stopped tarting about with the ball for the sake of it [Post edited 24 Mar 2019 11:23]

Agreed 8 games and NO FEAR will give us half a chance. would love an away win Saturday to properly set us up for the dog fight. 3 x home games and 5 x away. 4 wins and I think we are ok. 3 wins before the 27th April and Southend at home would make for an interesting afternoon at Spotland. Gillingham A Sunderland H Accrington Stanley A Portsmouth A Wycombe H Bristol Rovers A Southend H Charlton A.

From that the bare minimum I'd say would be losses against Portsmouth and Sunderland, draws against Bristol and Gillingham (even though we always lose there), then wins against Accy, Wycombe and Southend. It is still a huge ask but now it seems the players have had the shackles lifted and are playing with freedom it's now much more realistic than it was a month ago. I also fancy us to get something at Charlton as similarly to last year, they won't want any injuries right as they enter the play-offs.

Portsmouth away is the one I would put money on us getting nothing from, sorry for my deafitist attitude. The Sunderland game is going to be like a cup match I think, packed stadium great atmosphere, hopefully after at least a point in Kent. Got a good feeling about 6th April. Agree Charlton might just ease up a bit if they are in the playoffs and can't move up or down a place due to results. However will some players want to cement their place in the playoff squad with a blistering performance. Accy will be interesting they could have lost 4 on the bounce when Dale head up to The Wham. Fleetwood and Mackems at home and Wombles away. Question is how good is Coleman at inspiring a 'wounded animal' to fight back? Wycombe is definitely winnable a decent ref to deal with their gamesmanship will help, or perhaps play them at their own game a bit. Rovers away not entirely sure but confident of a point.

All 8 represent opportunity for points. After last night though brizzle are now in the mix and the more the merrier!!
Can we do this..? on 10:56 - Mar 27 with 5386 views | dingdangblue | If we can stay in the mix over these next 4 games then the 4 after that (Wycombe h, Bristol Rovers a, Southend h,) look like season definer's. Obviously a win at Accrington with it being the game in hand will be huge. Then it's down to the last game and Charlton away - just hope we are still in with a chance by then. If we are then whatever the outcome BBM will have given us hope where there was none a few weeks ago after the Wimbledon defeat.

Can we do this..? on 17:28 - Mar 27 with 5164 views | aleanddale | last season we had played 38 and we had 41 points. This season we have played 38 games and we have 41 points. interestingly in the next 7 games ( last season ) we only mustered 7 points and then won the final game. I suspect we will need more than 51 points this season. Anybody else think this year will be a record high points total still relegated?.

It seems every season it looks like you'll need a new points record only for it to stick around the 50/1/2 number so I wouldn't be overly concerned about that. Can we do this? I thought the Oxford game effectively relegated us, however the display from Saturday, particularly Wilbraham has made me think it might not be over yet. If he can carry on with that level of performance, which is a big if, I reckon we've got more than a fighting chance. My biggest worry before was the playing surfaces of ours and Accy's pitch meaning them games would be a 50/50 win at best . Wilbraham playing well means we can lump it long if needed so hopefully the pitches won't have as big an impact. Will also be interesting to see how defence reacts after losing Lonergan.

No doubt the effort is there, and the spirit has returned. But... in effect, all BBM had to do was restore some basic competences that'd been ignored, stop tinkering for the sake if it and act like a professional towards his players and supporters His players, and we, have reacted accordingly, showing that we've all got class when given a fair opportunity to demonstrate it

I would add that under BBM we've not played consistently very well, or anything like we have when we rode high in L1 under Hilly, but what he has done with what he was given as a squad (1st X1 quality, strength in depth and psychologically) is nothing short of remarkable. Looking back, it does make one wonder if KH has an in-built self-destruct mentality. Which is a bloody awful waste if so.
