Season Ticket News on 23:55 - Apr 23 by kiwidale | Your comment was pathetic. |
Yeah he didn't say that though. And we've not played 'shite' football all season. We've played some great stuff at times but we made a very slow start - recruitment didn't work out in the 1st transfer window but Hill has rectified that in January and players have improved and responded. Individual errors by Hill and the players have hurt us and may still see us relegated but I hope not. I will defend this team against anyone calling them shite because they are not.

Season Ticket News on 06:35 - Apr 24 by pioneer | Dead right KD. Not everyone is interested in going to as many as 10, 11, 18 or 23 games whether because of where they live or other commitments. So alongside the great season ticket offer we also need the minipacks - say 5 games at 60 quid. Its called prepayment - gets the money to the club upfront and means it doesn't matter if people decide not to come (for whatever reason - this season because we have played terrible, weather, rearranged games) we bank the money. Of course if they have already paid then probably more likely to come (and hence increases sales of programmes, club tat, pies etc). Its standard practice at other clubs and in other sports. This is not rocket science. |
Given I cannot attend every home game, I’d happily pay up front for a five or ten-game book if it offered me any kind of discount compared to paying on the gate.

You defend the team every time they play shite. You defend hill every time he has offended the fans. You defend the club and the board every time they make a bad decision or statement. I’ve been every home game this season the only time I’ve seen them play at the level we were at last season was against millwall and spurs. We have been shite. The league doesn’t lie.

if DDB chooses to support the team differently to you why does it offend you so much?. You have a clear choice. Go to the games or don't. If you think this is shite then I can only assume you have not supported the Dale for any length of time. Your view is as extreme in the opposite direction. Tonight could be the night we get out of the relegation zone. We have no divine right to a lg1 status we have to earn it.

Out of interest, what are the requirements for a country ticket and when would they go on sale? There's no way I could make a season ticket worthwhile (although I am tempted at those amazing prices!), but I'd potentially be interested in a country ticket.

Back to your original disapproval of the wonderful season ticket prices. Last season was a 1 off and I think we were told so at the time? 1 price all around the ground whatever stand? Next season they are keeping the prices exceptionally low (around £10 or less per game). The prices are tiered again as they always have been (apart from last seasons 1 off). £150 Sandy - the worst view but some fans want to stand and that's their choice. £200 Pearl St - seated, steeper with excellent view of the pitch but behind the goal. £250 main stand - seated, best view for home fans with a side on position. To put into perspective these fantastic prices - it was more expensive TEN years ago.

What is clear is that you can never please all the people all the time with a ST offer. There are as many different circumstances as there are fans and from the feedback to date, this seems to please the majority in terms of a one-size-fits-all solution. The only way to have a catch-all solution to please everybody, regardless of fan location, (for those fans not attending all games) would be to pre-pay for an entire ST or half ST (as examples) then have a refund system at the end of the season based on some kind of tiered pricing, depending on number of games attended. The club gets the money up front and it's effectively pay per view. This would still cause credit problems for some and would be an administrative nightmare (which we would be bound to get wrong). Also, the club might lose out on full ST revenue if people then choose not to attend some games knowing they would get a refund. In other words, great for the fan but not practicable. Personally, I paid £200 this year and should attend 22 home games all being well. I probably won't attend as many next year, but will still stump up £250 taking a view that I've paid £450 for two seasons and will see at least 30 games at an average of £15 versus a game-day admission of £22. Again personally, I like the concept of (as examples) a 5 game or 10 game ticket book that Pioneer/Chris discussed above. It depends whether or not the club sees this as diluting the value of the ST offer or rewarding loyal fans who can't get to all games through no fault of their own. If the club seriously want to try to increase the fan base, they should try to incentivise as many fans as they can.

It’s not extreme to say we have been poor or indeed shite this season. If it wasn’t the case we wouldn’t be where we are. DDB doesn’t offend me even though He probably wishes he did. I’ve supported Dale since I was thirteen I’m now nearly thirty. The younger end of our fanbase expect more from the team and are more likely to be affected by relegation then say the older end who see us going down as no disgrace. The problem is the same tropes about us being little old Rochdale and knowing our place would still be hashed out by the same few on here were we bottom of league two. I hope we do get out of the bottom four tonight. And even if we do stay up how can a price increase be justified on the back of the football we have endured this season?

But the new season tickets aren’t for this season - which had cheap season tickets anyway! If you’ve been watching since you were 13, you’d know how much cheaper this season and next are compared to others.

Why do you consider relegation as a disgrace.? There is nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to be disgusted about. It happens every year to a variety of teams. If teams are relegated as a result of a points deduction due to malpractice or cheating, I might understand, but calling it disgraceful in normal circumstances is ridiculous.

Or Pearl St. The only increase is main stand. And Historically (apart from last season) it's always been the most expensive stand. I'm not sure many main standers will be moaning at around £10 per game for the best 'home' view of the game. It's cheaper than 10 YEARS AGO.

Season Ticket News on 11:55 - Apr 24 with 4364 views | funkkk | Well done Dale, great pricing. My work pattern doesn't really allow for midweek games but I would still probably save cash. Went in the Pearl St for the first time in years at the weekend, no atmosphere but certainly made it hit home how bad the view in the Sandy is! Well worth an extra £50.

You have to live more than 50 miles away. Last year was 100quid. I usually get 6-8 games a season in and assume 50% will be at home. I bought one last year to support the club knowing I would lose out a little. Sod's law that of the 7 games I went to this year 5 were away so I lost a bit more than I thought!! At 75 quid this year I may give it a punt again. In fact when I add in I-Follow I will probably pay more than anyone but the main stand but at least I get the 23 away games in As per some comments above I would prefer a 5 match book to be on offer as well as the 10 match option - Perhaps for 50 quid PS I keep typing quid because my laptop doesn't have the quid symbol [Post edited 24 Apr 2018 15:00]

2 teams in the entire football league have improved year on year for the last 5 seasons. (Bournemouth and Wimbledon): Their runs will end this season as they will finish below their league position last year. Plymouth are the next in line, with 4 years sequential improvement which will become 5 at the end of this season. Bradford have not regressed for 6 years, but stagnated twice when they finished in the same position as the year before. Nobody else has improved year on year more than the above three. The former is down to external investment, the latter two are clubs that have gradually rebound from the bottom with big fan bases. What you are after is the fantasy of Football Manager 20**. Real football has it's ups and downs and the majority of fans recognise and respect this. The price at Spotland has both gone up and down, so your opinion that it is unjustified is wrong in my opinion Cheaper if you stand Same price if you sit and are prepared to move to TDS Yes, it has gone up in the main stand but you are not restricted to that stand.

I'll renew my Main Stand season country season ticket despite the increase to £125.00 (see that £ sign NigeriaMark and sigh!). I managed to get to nine home games this season and would have used all 10 but sitting in Pearl Street on Saturday to ensure my wife can sit next to me. Hang the expense! I have noticed however that you can't renew the Country Season Ticket on line - it just gives me the option to take a full price one. I'll bring it up with the ticket office when I phone to renew tomorrow.
