My folks were robbed whilst asleep in France once. They were gassed in their hotel room. It was their 50 year wedding anniversary, they got their wedding rings nicked.
My brother the same. Gassed in his sleep, also in France. Dont sleep with windows open over there. It's common now apparently. They nicked his car amongst other stuff. And because it was registered to Blofeld enterprises (we like Bond), the police thought it was a setup.

Stamping is a bit OTT but I completely understand taking them down. Tieing them to a fence outside the real victim's house was a deliberately aggressive and antagonistic move by the family. This scumbag was a burglar with a history of targeting the elderly. He deserves no public tribute.

Tying them to the fence owned by another OAP, without consent, is presumably illegal and also could be construed as threatening behaviour. Police should remove the tributes from the fence.
