Swansea City Supporters Trust 20:42 - Dec 11 with 13308 views | TheResurrection | Right, let's make today the start of a new dawn for the Trust and make sure we all get the transparency it needs. Phil, can you make this a permanent sticky so posters have a focal point for anything Trust related? Firstly I'd like to ask to see the 5 new Trust Board member's 250 words. Ux, can you get Nigel Hamer to send you those so we can have a read and see what we're getting. Also can we see the words of the applicants that didn't get on, to see what we missed out on? I understand the Chairman is being announced, or at least discussed in a meeting tomorrow. What is the criteria for the decision making for that appointment? Thanks in advance.

Swansea City Supporters Trust on 20:51 - Dec 11 with 4477 views | exiledclaseboy | Here’s what I sent, with some personal details removed plus details that relate to the specifics of my job, which I won’t put in here and wouldn’t expect the Trust to either. The dots represent where I’ve made the edits. It’s not that long. I'd like to apply for a co-opted place on the Board of the Supporters' Trust. I've been a Swans fan for more than 30 years and a season ticket holder for about 20 of them. These are challenging times for the Trust and I'd like to help. I am a... in the civil service with a lot of experience in negotiating, leading and dealing with pressure and high stakes situations. I have dealt extensively with...and have considerable experience of communications and dealing with the press. I'm confident my wide experience would prove an asset to the Trust board. Given recent events I believe that the Trust should be reconsidering the proposed deal with the club’s majority owners for the sale of the Trust’s shares. I also firmly believe that an almost total lack of effective communication is at the heart of the Trust’s recent problems. Silence breeds speculation and contempt and the Trust has at the moment lost the trust of its members and the wider fan base which the Trust should be attracting as members, especially now. That has to change immediately.

Swansea City Supporters Trust on 21:44 - Dec 11 by longlostjack | Would that be a split infinitive? If so my idea of what a split infinitive is has to immediately change. Seriously though congratulations on your appointment and a pity that the Box Office Res didn't make it. He's got my vote at the next elections. |
I’m not getting bogged down in split infinitives because it’s not 1850 and I’m younger than Monny.

Originally from Killay..., I have been a season ticket holder since 1976/77, ...I subsequently trained as a Chartered Accountant at Deloittes in London. I specialised in working with high growth companies and those requiring operational change, refocus or restructuring across a range of sectors. I have served as both CFO and MD of a range of UK and US listed businesses. My executive experience encompasses small, owner managed businesses and multi billion dollar global conglomerates. Currently a Non-Executive Director and Senior Independent Director of ... My experience includes a high degree of legal focus, including litigation against US Hedge Funds and litigation through the Delaware Courts. I can bring a broad range of commercial and City experience to the Trust Board combined with a deep belief in the objectives of the fans’ owned model. I was an original supporter of the Trust and was involved in the original fans’ movement against 9th Floor and subsequently Tony Petty. The biggest issue the Trust faces at present is a lack of supporter confidence that it is able to affect change. Partly caused by a lack of timely communication, partly by a feeling of impotence, and partly by a lack of trust in motivation of the Trust Board. The Trust requires a focused PR campaign, concerted membership drive. It should be a strong, unified representative of all fans and respected by the owners, not treated with contempt. I believe that I can be a strong voice in pursuit of these aims.

Brilliant! I particularly like the bit about Delaware courts! Pity about the Deloittes bit though. Could have been worse I suppose it could have been Arthur Andersen in those days :-)))) [Post edited 11 Dec 2017 22:48]

Oh dear Jenkins, sell-outs and Yankies.....Oh dear me! My common sense and streetwise intuition (I've got lots of that!) sort of says that Jenkins, Yanks and sell-outs are not going to like that CV. This is the equivalent of Count Huw Dracula and his brides having an unexpected call from ‘Buffy-The-Vampire-Slayer’ armed with a belt fed chain gun firing 12 inch stakes. I beg you to be a complete and utter bitch 'Lisa-Sell-Out-Slayer'.

Swansea City Supporters Trust on 23:33 - Dec 11 with 4001 views | Eilian | At no point did anyone explain that my application would be made public and id quite like it to remain private. I don't have anything to hide other than its poor quality. I decided to apply literally the night before so it turned into the ramblings of a frustrated supporter rather than a well-written application. Ill happily summarise for you however. I want to take an active role in working towards creating a Supporters Trust that is a true voice of the fans providing an insight into the ongoings of the club at board level while also providing a rallying point for fans to voice their opinions on all matters concerning the football club. I also went on to talk at length about how the Trust could possibly increase its membership and talked about the wide variety of ways the Trust could communicate with the fans. This was mainly based on a huge increase in information posted on social media It also included asking and encouraging members to take an active role despite not being on the board I suggested that the Trust should look to perform the role of a supporters club to increase membership and fan engagement and also increase revenue. I also added a short youtube video at the end as a quick demonstration of how simple it is to create video content to communicate better with the fans. I explicitly stated that I had little to no experience at board level and was not looking to get too heavily involved with legal matters. I was however passionate about improving communication and clarity. I have my opinions on the share sale, but id like to keep them private for the time being until I've had a chance to hear what the existing board has to say for itself. I doubt that they will change my mind but its best to get all the facts before I nail my colours to the mast. Id also like to see talks held between the Trust and other supporters groups as I feel that the fans are far stronger when we are united. Happy to meet up for a chat with anyone who is interested. Probably not going to make the game on Wednesday unfortunately. Thanks for all the congratulations Rhys Thomas

Thanks for this Rhys and that was fine and respect to you. I hope you are a strong believer in full transparency and will not be afraid to speak your mind and voice your opinion both in Board meetings and on here. Good luck mate and make them change. Young Clement, Thanks also and I know it's a brave move from you as you've liked to keep a certain anonymity on here so huge respect to you. I think we all know what we'll get from you which is a comforting thought. You, as well as the other new members, will know only too well what it's like to be on the outside waiting for communication and whilst technically it seems you're in there in more of an advisory capacity, I'm sure we can rely on you all to bring the Trust closer to the fans once more. Clever lady with a feisty side. That'll do for me.
