Any oldies on 09:52 - May 31 with 1887 views | RuDeMan1970 | I was at the home game and remember being delighted to hold them to the 1-goal deficit. I didn't go out to Monaco for the second leg but remember that a lot of our first-team weren't able to play as the majority of our players had to be Welsh..FFS we were old 3rd division playing Monaco who had George Weah playing for them! No wonder we got stuffed 8-0!!

| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Any oldies on 12:48 - May 31 with 1706 views | stevethejack | More memories of the away leg than the home leg. I was on the second FOSCFA (Travel Club) bus, not Ugo's bus that managed to get an invite to a civic reception with the Monaco royalty. We had to make do with rissole and chips in the Monaco branch of Rossi's. We left Swansea on Saturday at midnight so pub for everyone for a few hours first. By Port Talbot someone had been sick down the steps of the bus to the toilet and there was a VHS porno on the TV screens (supplied by yours truly). We had a night in Lyon on the way down, a rainy Sunday night, getting there around 8pm with everyone starving hungry and nothing open around the 30 bed hotel we were staying at. I had the idea of pizza delivery (at the time, pretty much unheard of). With the help of the receptionist/barmaid and my basic French 40 odd pizzas were ordered. The bar was drunk dry by the time the pizzas arrived. It was their biggest order ever so as a token of thanks they brought along over a dozen bottles of cheap plonk to go with the wine. With a dry bar, the extra, free booze went down a storm, and I was an instant hero. The next morning we couldn't get the bus around a tight corner, as a parked car was in the way. A dozen of us got out and picked the car up and carried it further down the street a little. Purely for comedy value we turned the car around so it faced the opposite direction, just to confuse the returning driver even further. A mile down the road, the bus' gearbox/clutch broke, so we had to push start a 52 seater. We managed it but at every stop of traffic, it stalled, so we had to bump start it again. After about 5 goes we gave up as it was Monday morning in Lyon at rush hour it was impossible. A replacement bus was called for but it begged the question of what we would do until it arrived. We found a little bar, but the owner was reluctant to have 52 Welsh blokes drinking and messing around at 10am on a Monday morning. Dai Tenko and others promised our best behaviour, and we sat out in his beer garden for the whole day eating and drinking. Someone up a tree had a camcorder and there's a video of it knocking around somewhere. The bar owner warmed to us and even had his daughter singing to us while he played the spoons. He made so much money that day, it probably set him up for months. He was sorry to see us go hours later when the replacement bus turned up. We eventually made it to Monaco on the Monday night with the game late on the Tuesday. It's memories like this that make following our beloved club so brilliant.
