Indeed, And I remeber some people were arguing that we would not miss Davies as Taylor was a better option.

I still feel the Odewingie incident knocked whatever footballing brain Taylor had out of him at that time.

Still a few oddballs around now who will tell you that Davies was no great loss and that Taylor was a better defender.

I had one last night trying to convince me that we haven't had a great striker since Trundle.

Initially before his injury I would agree.
Sadly now, not.

From where I was standing, I thought Taylor had a decent game. Admittedly you can't see all of the pitch from the away fans part of the ground, and of course he made mistakes - passing into touch, shooting way over the goal - but his link-up play was good and he made some decent tackles. I'd love to see Ben back here on a loan, and I'll be happy if Taylor is transferred, but I reckon last night's performance was a decent 7.

They must train him not to turn his back and jump when his winger is about to cross. Does it every time, that is not defending.

That is his party trick.

Does it in the box defending as well...has cost us a few goals

Afraid of getting hurt by the ball I guess.

Decent 7 ?? Why ?
Because he got into a shooting position from 30 yards out and blasted OVER the stands when Siggy was completely unmarked ahead and to his left ?
Or
because he gave the ball away passing back into our box - only a perfectly timed tackle from Mawson saving a potential goal
or
consistently receiving the ball in loads of space and then instead of doing something with it waits to be closed down before passing backwards into pressure !!
OR
pointing like a world class Bale ( of course he is only left footed too ! )
Doh !
Please PC see how well Guidolins last three matches were played with Taylor sulking on the bench

Maybe I'm starting from a very low base, but I didn't see much yesterday that was worse than the fare he's been serving up for years.

He went through a 20 minute spell in the second half when he was very poor on and off the ball, although fairly obvious he was struggling with the knock he took. Possibly showed up more on the cameras as you were right over the other side. It was meltdown on here at the time - an overreaction, but sadly expected given who it was.

Was it me or did he have a sulk on last night when being subbed ?? Ignoring Curtis.

Had a bad stream so couldn't quite make it out.

As for taylor,he was awful last night, seems like the game has moved on and he's yrs behind the curve, not his fault really but a fault of management/board who have failed to pay the money for a proper replacement.

Don't like to bash him but there must be an u 23 player with fewer mistakes and better overall game play than taylor ?

I hope the new coaching team will get things done quick.

A proper centre half and a proper left back will be a huge help, by that a mean clement pulling in favours from abroad to bring in a top loan or two.

Yeah, only Scotland scored more than him...

The Danny Graham scored 1 in 3 in the Prem, followed by Wilf...

You and me both Glyn. I thought he had good first half, covered and tackled well. Second half Zaha switched to that side and gave him a bit of a torrid time. Zaha came alive second half and was outstanding - his goal was exquisite. Taylor couldn't handle Zaha on that form. He doesn't get the assistance he used to get from Ash. He's more exposed on that side than he used to be. He did make one howler, sending the ball into our penalty area. He's not the only one to misplace passes last night - Gylfi's passing was all over the place as was Cork's. And Llorente hit a crossfield pass all the way across the pitch behind Rangel into touch. From the ensuing throw in Palace went up our end and scored that brilliant goal. If Taylor had made that pass.......God help us!

Yes that Kingsley boy is alright mind! No other good left back in the academy though.

Kingsley is better than Taylor but he's still only good enough to be our back up left back (at the moment).
