lunch in Swansea 20:22 - Mar 15 with 7303 viewscsf

Any suggestions for a decent place for lunch? Day off tomorrow with my wife, have done la Parilla to death fro lunch, was thinking about Hansons but been there a few times too. Love the food there but variety is the spice of life and all that.

My beef with La Parilla is the weird counter service thing they have going on there. In my book that's a canteen, not a restaurant.

Well the whole point is that you go up and chose the exact cut of meat that you want.

Very common in Spain/Italy...

i cant stand pretentious restaurants, La Parrilla, La Braz etc, to highlight this me and Er Indoors were in Caernarfon over the weekend.
Er Indoors chose where to eat on the 1st night. Any way she chose a place which looked nice, we say down and then got presented with the menu.
£19 for an 8oz sirloin steak or £16 for lamb, I just flipped as I could not justify the price for the food one offer, mainly a plate of chips and veg etc.
How the feck can they get away with selling an 8oz sirloin for £19 quid? (probably from Aldi).
I walked and ended up with a lovely chinese takeaway from the local takeaway.

£19 to eat sirloin out is not extortionate, in fairness to the restaurant they have overheads rent, wages and tax etc, yes you can do it cheaper at home but that defeats the object

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Where's best if you don't like eating dead rotting animals for lunch? I've found that the problem with not eating meat is that the alternatives in restaurants are generally either bland or disgusting.

Govinda's is decent. The Govinda's Special is mix of soup, breads, daal, and salad the big portion left me comatose. I've heard really good things about the vegan cafe Urban Zen just off Oxford Street but not been as yet. Their breakfast has been recommended by more than one person. Check out the menu

In Brazil they'd bring the meat to the table, which struck me as a nicer way of doing it.
