BT, Sky and Virgin 09:47 - Feb 18 with 1955 viewsymaohyd

What are people's opinions and experiences of these three?

I've had Sky for years and have always found them excellent. I've tended to use BT for phone/broadband etc and my god in many ways they are staggeringly awful.

For a company on the cutting edge of technology I can't believe our recent experiences with them.

Now gone with Virgin for broadband and must say very impressed and will probably go with them in Sept when my Sky contract runs out.

Sky's customer services are far better now. BT were always a bit wishy washy.

I've been with VM about 10 years. Only had a couple of issues in all that time with my broadband. Tivo is excellent as is the broadband. Plenty of box sets and catch up tv. Netflix is available if you have an account as well as youtube. Can't comment on Sky as I've been with Virgin for so long, but I highly recommend them

What Llangy said.

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

Yep. vote for virgin here too.

Worth noting that once out of the initial warranty, Virgin engineers will still come out to fix stuff with no call-out fee, whereas I think the others charge.

The only gripe I have with them is that they throttle the broadband at peak times, but rarely causes an issue and still get speeds in excess of 20Mb/s (sometimes as high as 80Mb/s when not throttled)

Been with Sky for years. No problems.

Just ordered 40MB fibre for a tenner a month. Should take less than three weeks total to get set up.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Virgin every day of the week.
In laws have Sky and when their tv box went faulty money was demanded to fix or replace.

Had sky and now have virgin.

No comparison, virgin all the way.

Yes I do work for virgin but had to pay sky for 4 years as I wasn't in a cable area.

Would never go back to sky
