Sporting Event Bucket List (Non-QPR) 13:56 - Jul 16 with 4529 viewsBrianMcCarthy

Watching the World Cup Final I realised that I no longer want to attend one of them. I'd find them overpriced, overcommercialised and no longer about the fans.

So my Bucket list became a lot shorter. Leaving aside Rangers, it currently reads as:-

(in order)

1) Red Sox in a World Series game at Fenway Park
2) A World Tour surfing event in Hawaii or Bali
3) An Ireland cricket tour of the Windies

So, leaving aside Rangers and Lottery win firmly in your back pocket, where are you off to while you have the health and libido?

I've always fancied being at the world snooker final, very since I was a kid.

Other than that I'm having trouble thinking of anything too obvious that isn't something like QPR beating Chelscum in the Alex Ferguson Memorial Interplanetary Supercup, played at Keith Moon Stadium on The Moon.

I actually was at the US Men's Tennis Final in 2001. Hewitt v Sampras. I was job coaching some people there and sneaked in. I never got to tell anybody about it though because I was at home the next day with a hangover and the day after that was 9/11, so nobody was asking how my weekend had been.

WTF is State of Origin, sounds like some crap action movie with Ben Affleck.

Having now seen QPR win at Wembley, my only remaining ambition for QPR is to see them play in Europe (pre-season doesn't count)

Already done World Cups (1998, 2002) and European Championships (1996, 2000 & 2004), seen live games in Bundesliga, Serie A, Eredivisie and er, the J League, already followed the Tour de France round the Alps too.

Can't think of anything else I really want to do other than one already mentioned, Fenerbahce v Galatasaray.

England cricket tour of the West Indies - that's definitely going to get done

Ryder Cup in America - can't imagine anything better than being there when the Yanks lose at home in the only proper global clash they enter (they're getting there on football, but this is one they really want).

It's better when they play Schalke.

The Belgrade derby is next on my list.

Undoubtedly but tickets for that are like rocking horse poo, or pricey. I'm happy with my €15 ticket for the Bayern game.

State of Origin is the pinnacle of Rugby League as England are too weak to challenge Australia. Best of three series each year. Queensland vs New South Wales...state against state, mate against mate. There are rules, and two refs to enforce them, but no-one knows what they are. Human dog-fighting, with a bit of rugby now and then. Great stuff.

Jon Jones v Alex Gustaffson - UFC. The practically undefeated Jones against the man who nearly beat him. The two best light heavyweight fighters in history.

Actually I'd quite like to be at UFC Dublin this Saturday. There are plenty of Irish fighters on the card and I think it'll be worth it just for the atmosphere.

For sure I'd like to be at Barca v Real Madrid one year.

Not too fussed by other sports, I have to say.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

1.Barcelona v Real
2.England 6 nations game at Twickenham against any of the home nations.
3.Boca v River Plate.
The atmosphere at Napoli v Milan was pretty special,so more of the same would do me.I don't care if its the Istanbul derby or Athens one.But that would go at number 4.

I've managed to tick a few off recently - went to Dallas to see the Cowboys play (they lost) and have now done every UK test match ground (watching England). I've done Fenway Park too, but not a World Series game (and the Sox also lost!)

that leaves - a Superbowl (perferably featuring Dallas), the boxing day Ashes test match and the Wengen Men's downhill.

I was trying to do al 92 clubs eatching QPR, but thats unlikley especially as its 2 up 2 down to the conference now.
