If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 11:50 - May 16 with 1358 views | Konk | If it was Fulham winning the cup or the League, then that all day long. If it was us getting promoted to the PL, then England winning the WC. Especially now we’re led by Roy and with Roy’s boys being a lot more likable than most of the tw ats who’ve represented our country in recent years.

If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 10:53 - May 16 by Toast_R | It's a good point but what your describing very much relates to QPR since 2008 and especially in the Fernandes era. Players wearing our shirt for no other reason then the big bucks their getting paid to do so and not giving too much of a f*ck whilst their doing it. Yet we're all creatures of habit and we follow regardless. I think you'll find most of the England players going to Brazil will be wearing their shirt with far more pride then the c*nts who took Rangers to the cleaners last season. If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 17:39 - May 16 with 1298 views | MKR | I'd love England to win the World Cup, but, I'm desparate to finally see QPR win at Wembley. It's not about getting into the Premier League for me, I just want to experience a Wembley win after the hurt of 82, 86 and Cardiff.
If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 17:56 - May 16 with 1287 views | cyprusmel | I saw Rangers beat West Brom and England beat Germany in the world cup final and it's Rangers for me every time.
If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 18:10 - May 16 with 1276 views | francisbowles | Silly question! In 44 years two 2nd Division titles are the only silverware I have seen us lift. Really want to see us lift a trophy at the home of football.

If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 20:26 - May 16 with 1250 views | QPRDEL | Had enough of England after Rooney abused the England fans in 2010. Think it summed up what the players really think of fans who take time off work and spend thousands of pounds following thier country. Maybe this lot under Roy will earn our respect. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Neither are in fact. Still, QPR all f-cking day long.
If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 20:35 - May 16 with 1245 views | Northernr | Pur-lease. I'd take QPR getting to an FA Cup quarter final, or winning the JP Trophy, or fielding a youth team player regularly, ahead of England winning the World Cup. In all seriousness, I am actually starting to like England again. Loads of young players, looking to the future, a lot of them seem to actually really value going to England duty, so I can get on board with them. He's also showing with Rickie Lambert that it's not about background, clubs, age etc, it's about ability and form. Once Lampard has fcked off I'll probably be back to where I was in 1996ish when I went to all the England games in this country. I stopped going to England after a game at Old Trafford against Wales where I realised I hated (not disliked, hated) nine of the ten England players. I hated the team, I didn't like Sven and the way he devalued the international cap by dishing them out to all and sundry in friendlies, I hated Old Trafford, and I hated both the "no surrender to the IRA" and the happy clappy foam hands brigade. I basically hated everything about it. For ages I've not really been that fussed whether we win anything internationally or not, because frankly I'd rather set fire to myself than see Terry, Lampard, Neville, Cole etc lift any kind of trophy. But that seems to be changing. Still. QPR all the way. In every possible scenario.

If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 09:14 - May 16 by makaveli1882 | I'm going to world cup in a month, went to South Africa and Ukraine and 90% of all qualifier's & friendly's since 2008 But I would rather Rangers win anything over England, but asking the people on this board is ridiculous, its the biggest anti England MB I've ever seen, every game people complain about the players and how boring we are and that they would rather watch big brother or eastenders instead. You wont get one person say England on this thread |
I'll be in Brazil for the finals as well. Are you going to the England group games? If so, we should get together for a beer out there. I'll be wearing my hoops for the games. It is not an obvious answr for me. I love QPR, but I love my country too. I would be personally happier if QPR won something. But winning the world cup is a big deal that i couldn't dismiss. I think if you ask me promotion or World Cup, i say World cup. If you say, win the FA Cup or Premiership or World Cup then I say FA Cup/prem. We have been promoted before, so one more promotion doesn't exactly rock my world. That's my opinion at least (puts on tin hat and waits for incoming!)

I take both my shot knees off to you for that comment. I was there in 1967 for West Brom, but not for the 1966 World Cup, as we sold our allocation to the 1966 final after the first two rounds against Uruguay and France, when we reckoned the England team wasn't good enough to beat Scunthorpe. Anyone who watched the first two games knows just how shyte England were in the first two rounds at Wembley in 1966. Even with the QPR mercenaries, I want them to win over England, because England are just bigger mercenaries, and they don't have a man called Clint playing for them. [Post edited 17 May 2014 8:19]

If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 09:26 - May 16 by N12Hoop | There are plenty of people who support England on this forum, but I suspect you are right and that most aren't bothered. I don't think this is unique to QPR though, I think it is a consequence of how football has changed over the last 20 years or so and the fact that we cannot identify with England at the moment. The players are predominantly w4nkers playing for clubs we loathe. It's hard to want to see any Scum or ManUre player enjoy success and become feted as a hero. Maybe it's different for Soton fans since they now have an England presence, and I know when Paul Parker and Terry Fenwick played I would cheer England on. But it's pretty hard to cheer on a team when you can't stand most of the people who are in that team. Personally I would chose club over country every day of the week. I've seen us at Wembley 3 times and Cardiff once and never seen us win. Not sure if it would be different if was a ManUre fan and used to success, but for me it's a no-brainer. QPR every time. |
Completely agree. Things have changed a bit though over the last 20 years or so - since the Premier League really. There used to be players at other clubs that I liked and wanted to see playing for England - Le Tissier for example (would have loved him at QPR too, would have been the perfect no 10) and England players that I liked and respected even when they played for other clubs - Lineker, Terry Butcher, Des Walker, Trevor Brooking. That's virtually impossible now because [a] while no decent human being could not loathe C*****a its had not to loathe any other club that gets near the top of a league that's based on the size of their bank accounts; and the last generation of England players have not only under-performed but have been hugely rewarded for doing so. Joey Barton's comment about Lampard's book was dead right and the fact that Lampard couldn't see it showed him up for the self-satisfied git he is. Current England squad are a bit easier to like actually.

Picking up on Konk's point re Roy, he has made great strides. The confirmation of the end of the England career of the despised Terry and now the public humiliation of the odious Cole. One more to go Roy, you can do it. To the original point, I think it may be slightly different should we ever host a world cup. But, seeing as there are a number of obscure Middle Eastern oil producing nations to get through yet, this is not likely, so Rangers for me.

If you had to choose QPR or England to win on 08:16 - May 17 with 946 views | smegma | The thing is as well, QPR winning is more personal. Should we ever win a cup tie and gawd forbid get to a final, it would only make say 40,000 happy. England winning something and every Tom, Dick & Harry will purport to be a football fan. Even dead people.
