In the 1980's the street signs at opposite ends of the street, were spelled differently. One at the Sandy Lane junction was different to the one at the Edenfield Road end.

At the time the Council didn't know which one to change until someone pointed out that the name of the street was a corruption of someone's name (William Butterworth - known as WIll Butt) and so the name WillButts came about.

It should have a double 'L' in the name.

With four games left the fewer 'L's we have the better

Will Butt has a relative who's posted on here once or twice.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Give it time, someone will write graffiti on the signs...spelt with a single "f".
