Proud to be a Saint and the San Siro is a befitting venue for a world class club like Southampton FC.

Two wonderful cities and the San Siro + the Negev desert. A good test for us - I hope we take it seriously...

Hugely excited by this draw. I was hoping to get Inter since the FA Cup final confirmed we would enter at the group phase. Does anyone know when fixtures are confirmed and ticket details? Already planning a trip to Milan.

Great opportunity to qualify for the next round. No iffy long haul flights into the back end of nowhere and minimal disruption to preparation for league matches post travel. Couldn't realistically have been a better draw.

"...where they will be joined by 8 teams.." with bigger budgets who got beat by their peers so they are now allowed to take advantage of teams with lower budgets and win a trophy so their fans can pretend they have achieved something. Not to mention they can pick up some more much needed cash. This is what makes this competition a joke and shows it what it is: a cash grab by owners by way of tickets, tv rights, etc. It's like the video game scam where you pay for the game, slog through hours and hours to get to the final stage and them the developer nerfs your weapons and says actually it's not the final stage and you have to pay more for the expansion pack. No Champions League loser should be allowed and make it either for teams under 21s or home born players. Then it would be really interesting.

I kind of agree with Boondock; losing teams from the Champions League should not be dropped into the Europa League, that's just farcical and be littles the competition. CL or EL; UEFA is hell bent on creating a European Super League eventually. It maybe 20 year away but it's on the agenda. Looking forward to Inter Milan though, no question about it, an exciting match.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Bristol City Polls |
