Refwatch Preview: Wycombe v Dale
Thursday, 20th Mar 2014 07:00 by TVOS

Hull referee Carl Boyeson will be the man in the middle for Dale’s trip to Wycombe on Saturday.

This will be the second time we have met Mr Boyeson this season as he was also the man in the middle for the 1-0 local derby defeat of bury at Spotland in September.

Having joined the league list in 2002, Saturday will be Carl’s 17th game involving Dale, with one of the most incident-packed coming at Notts County in January 2005.

The match finished 0-0 and was a fairly timid affair, but Mr Boyeson sent off Dale’s Gareth Griffiths and Ernie Cooksey as we finished the afternoon with only nine men.

Cooksey’s red card was later rescinded, meaning he was free to take part in the FA Cup tie at Charlton five days later.

Carl’s full record at Dale matches is:

Aug 2002 Rochdale v Southend U D3 Lost 1-2

Jan 2003 Rochdale v Lincoln C D3 Lost 0-1

Jan 2005 Notts Co v Rochdale L2 Drew 0-0

Apr 2005 Rochdale v Leyton Orient L2 Won 2-0

Aug 2005 Rochdale v Bradford C CC Lost 0-5

Apr 2006 Rochdale v Barnet L2 Drew 1-1

Sep 2006 Rochdale v Shrewsbury T L2 Drew 1-1

Dec 2006 Hartlepool U v Rochdale L2 Lost 0-1

Oct 2007 Darlington v Rochdale L2 Drew 1-1

Oct 2008 Morecambe v Rochdale L2 Drew 1-1

Apr 2010 Rochdale v Bournemouth L2 Drew 0-0

Jan 2011 Rochdale v Tranmere L1 Won 3-2

Feb 2012 Rochdale v Bournemouth L1 Won 1-0

Mar 2013 Morecambe v Rochdale L2 Lost 0-3

Sep 2013 Rochdale v bury L2 Won 1-0

So far this season Carl has refereed 26 games, showing 77 yellow cards and two red, one of which went to Peter Vincenti in the aforementioned bury match.

His most recent appointment was at Newport v Exeter last Sunday.

An official who has been consistently against us for years. Given the shockers we've had to endure so far, it comes as no surprise that we meet this one AGAIN, after his MOTM performance for bury at Spotland earlier in the season.
