I’ve not seen him angry lie he was at that delay in play earlier.
This game is a little unfair (but that’s the way it goes) as they are so much fresher. This is our third in 6 days. It’s their second in 14. |

I it’s a lame excuse but a fact, they have much more energy than us. They close us down quickly because of that. You’ll see us playing the ball around now to make them run but it’s not looking good even at this relatively early stage. |

I think in his case we have to trust the performance measures the club carry out regarding his fitness. He’s clearly one of our best drivers but maybe struggling for 90+’ games. I’d like to think if he was up for it he’d be treated the same as Grimes. |

We’ve discussed this b3fore but sadly I don’t believe Abdulai is a Championship footballer, in any position. The basics to deliver at this level just aren’t there in my opinion.
Fulton can blow hot and cold, mainly the latter unfortunately.
I see why LW keeps giving Abdulai a chance, even though it’s out of his normal position, and that’s to get his confidence up. But it’s not working. I wish for his sake and ours it was!
We are not a strong squad and injuries weaken us more than other sides. Having to rely on Naughton is not a good sign though I will say that he has turned in a fair few performances when brought on but not consistently. |

There are two things that Williams has taken from Martin.
Clearly, playing intricate moves in our own area like a football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters but without the talent is only going to end in tears. Especially at the fag end of a game when we have points to lose.
Secondly, the waiting for a pressing player to get within a ties width if the ball before passing it. I remember the derision this caused when Martin boldly stated that that type of play would sap opponents of energy. Well that didn’t go according to plan yesterday and Vig’s dallying on the ball nearly cost us. Derby were the fittest team leaving the pitch last night without doubt.
First class match report by Liam by the way. A ‘warts and all’ account which for me gave a very accurate feel of how the game went. |
