Yep no doubting he made a difference. Sometimes just needs to go for it. Tough as well and fights for everything. Just knock it passed and run. If he loses it at least the defender is 10 yards furthur back and he can close them down. Towards the end when Smyth came off would have liked Alfie to go out why and have Frey bully Dickie for a few minutes |

I'm really struggling with Ashby. At the moment I really don't want him near the team. I know he is a young player playing out of position but at times he doesn't look like a footballer. Always seems to make the wrong choice. Does the opposite to the thing he should. So many times cuts in and passes it in field and into danger. So many times he came running out if defence to close someone down and left the runner to go in behind. |

I just wish he would trust his pace more. Tries to almost dribble passed the defender when sometimes today he could have knocked it passed the last man and ran. He seems unsure and allows the defending team to catch up |

He has had a good game today. He will also have blips but great potential there. Never sure what his best position is. What I like though, he has good football intelligence, we played some nice stuff off him with his link up play. He is also confident and aggressive. Aggressive in his closing down but also his movement. Make the defenders think and occupies them which creates space for others |

Saito has to stay in. Got a football brain and works hard in defence and attack. Smyth comes out of the team for me. Yes he has great pace and works hard tracking back but fed up with the final ball always being naff and falling over looking for free kicks when in promising positions |

I think at the back it is more helpful to have that right and left balance if you are a team trying to play out from the back. Being able to take the ball on the turn and quickly progress the ball in the direction the play dictates. If perhaps you have switched it quickly from one side to the other it helps to have a player who can recieved on their left and keeping going to the outside, rather than come back into play where there might be conjestion. Morrison is quite good on the ball so not naturally being left footed hasn't been too much of an issue. In some cases a team may know a player pretty much uses their weak foot just to stand on and might close down in such away that they have to use it and therefore cause issues. Like you said though there are some exceptional players who have been ridiculously one footed but couldn't be stopped. In some cases, taking them out wouldn't stop them 😂 |

I believe he meant after Burnley when he retired. He said he felt fit but just didn't think he could be the player he wanted to be and I think didn't want to come to us and tarnish things with maybe it not going well |

Oh ok. So you haven't had people say to you that they don't appreciate the way you have spoken to them?? When you have said this is a place to air opinion but then you get colorfully offensive with a wonderful vocabulary, when they approach a subject from a different view point to your own. I must have not read those threads then. Or when everyone else can see that a reply to a comment of yours is tongue in cheek and just a bit of a wind up but you go on 10 paragraph offensive. Ok, my mistake Take care Sausage |

Oh no. You dared to disagree. A plethora of paragraphs incoming about how you are wrong and although discussing things is good, your opinion only matters if it is on sync |

So a question came in to his podcast asking is there a team he wanted to play for that be never did. He said there wasn't but would have been with us for longer or come back to us later in his career. He said he loved it with us, loved the people and was liked by the fans and has a lot of affection for us. Was saying he would have maybe liked to have finished his career with us and maybe could have come to us after Burnley but felt he couldn't be the player he wanted to be and wouldn't do that to us. He would have only come to us if he thought he could have been worth it |

I use an amazon firestick for all my streaming and iptv. I use an adaptor and run it straight into the router. Always best to hardwire even if Internet is quick and WiFi signal strength can drop |

Really not sure about Ashby. He plays like his legs are too long for him or doesn't know what they are doing and most of the time he does the opposite thing to what he should. The amount of times when he played left back he would cut in and then dribble across the pitch, only to lose it and then be out of position. Passes it when he should hold on and keeps it when the simple pass is on. I know very inexperienced and maybe will offer more and be more comfortable on the right side. If he does play right back I'm glad Cook is on that side and will hopefully talk him through the game |

Who did Marti say what helping with set pieces more? |

I think he has helped us whilst JCS had been out and his calmness and distribution is very good. I think he is going to be the long term replacement for Cook and actually wouldn't mind seeing him play with JCS. At the same time his transition into the first team might have been easier with having Cook alongside him. Would be interesting to see the three of them together in a back 3 |

I am pleased we showed intent today. No sitting back. Tried to play football when the opportunity was there but dug in too. Varane just getting better and better. Celar still slightly on his heels in build up play but he comes alive near and in the box. [Post edited 30 Nov 14:40]

I'm not sure about Anderson and Madsen in the same team. We lack pace at the best of times and with those two, it would be even worse. Personally I would have Saito and Smyth starting or worse case have Ashby playing wide right just because he has a bit of pace. He would also be able to help Dunne, who has looked a bit shaky recently |
| Forum Reply | Team for Cardiff at 22:52 26 Nov 2024
I think Dunne's form have dropped off a bit recently. With the injuries at the moment once JCS is fit I would be interested to see a back 3 of Cook, Morrison and JCS, maybe wing backs of Paal and Ashby, Varane and one other in midfield with a front 3 that has to include Saito and then whoever is available |

So do we think Marti will drop Celar as the fans are/have turned against him and his performances are not up to it (at the moment) or will he continue with him to try and give him sort of confidence? I like Lloyds energy but not sure he can last the 90 minutes like that and would he better coming on as a sub? If that is the case, who do we start with. I wouldn't mind seeing Kolli there. I know he seems to be a player who gets better by not playing in terms of people's perception of him but at least he will be a presence up front, can hold the ball up and give the defenders something to think about, or is there another option? |
