McLean suspended for 4 matches
at 11:50 11 Dec 2024

I in no way want to defend McLean, but to me his post-arm antics towards Morgan had a distinct whiff of "I could be in trouble, so if I (over)act like Morgan is faking it, the ref might be enough in doubt to let me off". I think Cook knew that, so I don't see any leadership lapse by not defending his young teammate. McLean was acting to influence the ref, not to bully Morgan, and that's why Cook was laughing.

Please note that my opinion is based on watching the game online, far away from the live action.

Cook.
at 15:52 9 Dec 2024

Cook was absolutely crucial to our survival last season.
Goals against average:
Cook in starting XI = 1,26/game
Cook on bench/injured = 2,09/game

Points average:
Cook in starting XI = 1,51/game
Cook on bench/injured = 0,27/game

Of the 11 games we played without Cook in the starting XI, we only got points in 1 game - the 0:2 win away at Preston. The remaining 10 games we lost.

Just to be clear, I'm not digging out Kelman. I actually quite like him, and I hope he does really well for LO. He might even return after his loan spell and do a job for us.

Semirelated pun:

"Best finisher at the club"
Another justification-euphemism used by club representatives for spending money on (and extending the contract of) a striker who will never ever make the starting 11.

It clearly marks the latest step in delivering on the ambition to establish the necessary infrastructure around a club-led game model which has underpinned all the recent football strategy decisions.

According to Football Manager 24, he's on € 9360/w. So now we've got two unreliable figures floating around :)

But whatever the figure is, it can now be spend on something else.

Celtic, Wolves, Ipswich, Burnley, Stoke, and Crystal Palace are "all said to be keen on a deal".

Absolutely nonsensical from what was supposed to be a no-nonsense defender.
And braindead.

Such manly ways to get your fingers injured. I got a mallet finger Monday this week - from tucking in the bed sheets. Literally.

Upside is, that I now have a splint on my middle finger locking it in the stretched position, which will come in very handy watching us on the stream against Leicester on Saturday.

Regarding Dunne's second yellow, I'm very sure it came from "massaging" the penalty spot with his studs right after the penalty was called. That is what Jed Wallace appeared to signal to the ref.
