I suggest that atmosphere would change if
We hadn't lost 12 of our 15 games.
We didn't have a manager who refuses to change his tactics that don't work.
We didn't have owners who gave Martin a 3 year contract.
We didn't have so many happy clappers who seem to be happy at losing.
We didn't have so many fans that want to sing about Pompey even tho they are not even in our division.
If we could score more goals.
If we could buy some decent players in January with a new manager.
I don't think Sports Republic have under invested but have wasted what they have and now seem too embarrassed to do anything about it. [Post edited 11 Dec 17:25]

To play out from the back in the Premiership you have to have very good players to do it.
Once you lose the ball most Premiership clubs have the quality players to punish you.
Never been a fan of passing out from the back(particularly the way we do) because when you lose the ball your opponent has the ball close to your goal.
What I don't get about Martin is he cannot see its not working,we have played 15 games and lost 12.
Communication is certainly not one of Martins(if any) strong points.
Whats the latest on Stewart and Tall Paul et etc?
He plays players out of position,team selection is erratic and his substitutions even more so.
The straw that broke the Camels back has been his criticism of fans wanting the ball forward rather than sideways.
The owners letting this drag on need to have a good look at themselves because the fans had had enough. [Post edited 10 Dec 18:19]

I don't go to football anything like I used to,but I have to say that's it for this season I will not go to anymore games while Martin is in charge,I cant stand watching this walking football we have now.

There is some very true words there, frannie.
For fear of looking back and I know we have to move on.
I remember the Dell as a family, cross the fans and you cross the family.
In those days fans would mix at games and socialise after,
The Top Rank, Pier and clubs and pubs.
We knew we would never be considered a big club and we didn’t care because playing on our ground you were in for a fight.
The Saints way is to go forward not sideways.
Who could ever forget Channon,Ball, Armstrong, Williams, even going back Davies, Chivers and Paine?
The way we play is NOT the Saints way. |

I think fans are beyond angry and upset.
We are now being humiliated.
Chelsea left Jackson on the bench and Villa had Watkins on the bench at the start,teams are not even playing their best players against us.
Of course we are poor in some departments but we could do so much better with better coaching,tactics and team selection.
The fans are hurt at the moment,fans I meet and talk to give each other a cold stare when we say what do you think of Saints at the moment?
I personally have never felt so disillusioned,we need a change and NOW. |
