I imagine this is nothing more than a much bigger opportunity that was too big to turn down. While NBA operates with a salary cap, there isn’t really a limit to what teams can invest in other areas to gain a competitive advantage. Huge staffs of data and performance analysts. But it is interesting given the comment about him being more involved than just the health side with QPR and to leave after a year. |

Was coming to post this. Had wondered if maybe we would go in for him again as cover, since like you said, we had been linked with him across multiple windows. Hadn’t realized he got as far as a medical previously. |

Man, we have to take our chances. Dembele needs to put that first one away. I also don’t get Lloyd continuing to be picked over Kolli (unless Kolli is going on loan tonight). I like Lloyd, but think Kolli offers more. While Kolli has given it away a few times this season, Lloyd does not look a natural dribbling on that wing. [Post edited 30 Aug 20:33]

On the transparency front, it is such a contrast to American sports leagues where contract length and amount are public common knowledge. I assume it is due to the relative power of the player unions and collective bargaining agreements governing those leagues. Though one needs to have a phd to understand some of the salary cap and luxury tax rules in these leagues, it does help fans understand team building concepts. |

I thought Cellar was unlucky to not get a goal on that shot he had…pretty well-struck and a good save. From what I’ve seen so far this summer, Kolli is ahead of Lloyd for me on the depth chart. With Chair and Anderson likely out a little while, I wonder if it means neither get loaned out. Ideally both would get League One loans from my view. |

Granted two tough opponents to start the season, but we were all hoping to carry the Marti momentum on from second half of last season. But there are definitely concerns…defense hasn’t been as solid as second half of last season, our midfield has truly been overrun, and with Anderson surely joining Chair on the sidelines for a bit, our creativity is even more barren. I was opposed to bringing Hayden back, but now think we may need another body in there, even though him, field, colback, and Varane all seem somewhat similar players to me. On a positive, Dembele looks great, and I assume he slots into the 10 now with Anderson out going forward. |

Was Spence the player Warnock didn’t get on with at Boro? He looks like he could play in a lower prem side… |

I’d like to not repeat the mismanagement of Armstrong, and think Kolli would really benefit from starting every week in League One for at least half the season…but what we have seen from Kolli in his brief appearances before he got hurt last year and the preseason, maybe he forces his way into the team… |

Fun first 15 minutes. I like Smyth, he shows how having a little pace can open things up. Hope we get another quick winger with a bit more quality (maybe on loan?). I thought Donley was supposed to be a pretty highly rated striker…is he play left back for spurs? |

Seriously, this. Some statement by GPTNourry! |

I think I am probably higher on Armstrong than most. Even though his finishing is lacking (to be kind), we always look more threatening with him out there than with our other options. But his agent definitely appears to be a problem, linking him with Barcelona, Celtic, Man City before he even made a first team start with us. Has never seemed like he really wanted to be here and looking for the next move. Just sell him. |

Gah. We have to take our chances. I am not as anti-Dykes as some, but this game is calling out for Sinclair. Ballard is looking very ropey. [Post edited 16 Mar 15:26]
