As I always say when a Chelsea fan tells me that they don't care about QPR, the simple act of choosing to support Chelsea renders their opinion irrelevant to me as they have shown they are incapable of rational thought. Ergo, why should I care what they think of us? I hate them for my own reasons, I'm uninterested in what they have to say on the matter. |

This was supposed to be the 'centrepiece' of my stag do. As it turned out, it will live long in the memory of everyone on the stag - mainly as a stick to beat the QPR supporting members of it for years to come.
Half the coach hadn't been to bed having spent the previous night in Liverpool and Saturday morning in a village pub (I'd hesitate to call it welcoming - more begrudging - but at least they served us and didn't call the police; you'd think they'd be a bit more grateful for us tripling their annual turnover in the space of three hours) and yet we still would have made a better fist of the first half.
It's probably what I expected. |

There's something about Merseyside away days that seems to encourage serious leatheredness - after the Tranmere re-arranged game a group of us almost ended up on the Dublin ferry by mistake, the drinking session that ensued following the late postponement of the original finished up with back at some girl's flat playing with her pet boa constrictor (no euphenism or fnarr-fnarr intended!) whilst this season's trip to Goodison saw me somewhat 'refreshed' well before kick off and I tried to leave at half time as I thought the game was over and we'd won. It was only after a couple of minutes 'discussion' with some stewards that I doscovered the error of my ways ("If you leave you won't be allowed back in", "Why would I want to come back in?", "Er, to watch the second half?", "It's only half time?" etc etc)... It'll take a lot to beat it! |

I've got to take you to task for a description of Liverpool as "an absolute shit hole. A vile, dirty place that was almost completely deserted and closed after 5pm and had that sort of thinly veiled, unspoken threat about it like a deserted subway after dark" mate - you obviously stayed in the wrong part of town.
I studied and worked in Liverpool for a number of years and went out with a Scouser for 7 years and to describe town as deserted and closed after 5pm is crazy - there are whole sections of the place where every pub and bar is open until 2am every night of the week! It's a great place to go on the lash - as I and many others did after that re-arranged 0-0!!!
That said, I'll agree with you that trying to find a decent breakfast in town is a nightmare. :-) |
