Long time lurkers....dont be shy.
at 09:07 2 Sep 2024

Hi all, been around since 2001 and still got the T-Shirt !- Lancshoop 16 though it's very faded and worn thin now.
Lancashire born and bred but 'adopted' QPR as my team in 1967 - the shirt, Rodney and giant killing history making League Cup win.
I don't post much but read a lot and this site keeps me informed about what's going on, especially on the terraces.
Met a school friend at a reunion in April I hadn't seen since 1974 and the first thing he said was' You still following QPR?' Hope to be at a few games again this season and at least one of my children - all in their 30's will be with me and maybe their partners. Even my wife has started coming with me again -don't know whether that's good or bad!

What else would you expect to see silhouetted on a QPR shirt? - Sydney Opera house perhaps, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Herds of wilderbeast sweeping majestically across the plain.

Sorry - couldn't resist.

Placards
at 09:17 4 Jan 2024

My wife wouldn't let me take my 'Chloe Kelly can I have your shirt' placard when we went to Man C v Chelsea women.
Wrong on so many levels at 65 years old.
I'd also like Mille Bright's shirt but being Chelsea that's one step to far.

I've still got my late 60's plastic QPR team. when they broke (usually stood on) I'd heat the goally stick on the hob and melt them back into their bases. Rodney Marsh is in his up to his knees now, but at least now as Chair it's to scale!

Eggs, how do you like them?

my taste is more highbrow.

Either Eggs Florentine or Benedict, accompanied by a packet of Monster Munch and washed down with Um Bongo

Won't mean anything to any of you but;

St Mary's RC Primary Fleetwood
St Joseph's College Blackpool - Run by Irish Christian Brothers who were as tough as Jesuits but just didn't brag about it!
I am remembered at reunions for 3 things - I played the French horn, was a reasonably good cricketer and I supported QPR. Our last reunion was 2 weeks after the Blackpool debacle - so they certainly remembered me this year!!

How do we come back from this ?
at 09:02 15 Mar 2023

Similar situation as to when Holloway joined us in February 2001, he couldn't stop us going down but Ainsworth possibly can. Whatever happens stick with Gareth, reset, rebuild and come back stronger next season.
We have great core support and community and we'll have a first class training complex.
We're probably at Loftus Rd for a good few years yet, so let's stick with it (as we always do) and be loud and proud.

If people cannot get a ticket, as a former Fleetwood resident and supporter (2nd to the R's of course), there will be room for 2 people to sit atop the park gate posts and see a 10 metre wide strip of the action.

Added Time at the WC
at 11:48 29 Nov 2022

It probably is a truer reflection of time lost through goal kicks, throw ins etc. However in addition I'd like to see goal celebrations limited to a maximum of one minute. If the scoring team aren't back in position by this time, the ref blows the whistle and the conceded team can kick off.

I seem to remember in our 82/83 season there were a lot of 1-0 and 0-0 scorelines especially away from home. The back four moved in perfect synchronisation, 10 yards apart step up, drop back, go left, go right; catching countless offsides much to the frustration of the opposition and their crowd. A joy to watch though with a good team and Venables at his tactical best.

5 Subs next season
at 11:35 13 Jun 2022

I too wouldn't want the game to become more Americanised but maybe the ref should stop his watch for substitutions. All he needs to do is indicate the clock has stopped by raising an arm or maybe getting the nearside linesman to raise his flag indicating the clock has been stopped and then the clock starts again on resumption of play. He could also have this descretion (which I assume he already does anyway) for lengthy injuries.

Just like the Swiss flag, Danish colours flying from the main stand would be a big plus! - I'll get my coat!

Always had a soft spot for him. Was with us over 10 years but rarely made 1st choice keeper for any length of time. Unfortunately 2nd choice to Southall for Wales so only got 2 caps for them.
Glad he got the career he did with D&R after breaking his finger with Millwall and retiring.
Good to see him still in the game.
