Ditto on yours!

I also wasn't in favour of Jim getting the job, but now I don't want him to leave. I think he's done a very good job, with plenty still to do!

Out of interest, what are you judging him on when you say he was doing a pretty good job?

I haven't been to any youth games, but know people who have. Their opinion on Thorpe isn't exactly glowing.

Each to their own and all that, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is a case of a contract not being renewed.

That account just reads Twitter and adds on a bit to sound ITK. Complete chancer.

Pete O'Rourke is the one to take notice of, he's usually very reliable. His message is Jim is a "contender", which I interpret as Jim has spoken to Burton and he's under consideration among some other candidates.

Fitzo has followed up on that and added Burton agreed to the match the compensation clause in Jim's contract, which meant they were granted permission to speak to him.

For all the rhetoric from the usual suspects on here who think they know everything about everything, I think losing Jim at this stage would be a big blow. It's not just the loss of the manager, it's the upheaval and impact on the playing staff and plan.

A lad who follows Dale Hone & Away. But not this competition because it’s nonsense.

BDB - you are the mouthy idiot on this occasion. Loyal fans are entitled to their opinion.

Evening with Hendo
at 20:51 20 Oct 2024

A night with David Dockerty featuring Ian Henderson.

Hendo came across brilliantly when he was allowed to speak. He spoke very openly too, which is what makes the event. He’ll forever by the GOAT at this club.

It's a stretch to find something to be negative about right now, but you've somehow managed it.

Striker crisis because our main striker is bagging goals?

Mark Mitchell and Rochdale don't score. I'm pretty sure managers are already aware of Kairo and he's still getting opportunities. Put an additional man and it frees up space for us to threaten elsewhere.

What if Kairo gets injured? We have no other strikers fit... there's a chap called Ian Henderson, you may remember him, he's scored a few goals for us. We can dip into the loan market as and when we need.

We're light on numbers because of injuries, not because of poor planning on McNulty's part.

I’m not sure you should be throwing accusations around tbf.

I was right in the middle of it and several of us were calling out drink fuelled youngsters for stupid remarks. There was no encouragement.

That’s as polite as I can possibly put it.

It's lovely to see, Rob.

Phoenix club bury create FA Cup shock away at giants Blyth Spartans.

I never thought I'd see the day where you're getting a hardon for that, but life is a journey full of unexpected twists and turns.

I hope plenty join, but...Saturday 12th October is 'available' on the fixture list because it's FA Cup 4th Round Qualifying (i.e. the round we'll enter to play for a place in the 1st Round Proper.)

TONIGHTS GAME V MAIDENHEAD UTD
at 20:00 11 Sep 2024

Player gets subbed.
Player asked by the ref to exit stage left.
Player has to walk to dugouts stage right.
Player is applauded for putting a shift in.

Your perception is unfounded negativity. The team are flying, the togetherness is palpable, and you're spinning this nonsense. So yeah, I commented.

If being "a bit too big for his boots" is running his balls off and tracking back for the cause, despite having an abundance of attacking ability, then let's just get the lad some bigger boots.

He's getting the applause because he's been a quality addition, shown over a number of games.

RIP Peter Smith (Swiggy)

Yesterday, we lost another of our own. Peter Smith, aka Swiggy, was Dale through and through. He'll have been a very familiar face at matches and an even more familiar face in The Cem and other pubs of Rochdale! He was also an occasional poster on this forum.

He'll be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all that knew him. RIP Swiggy.

Jim: “Luke picked up an injury with his groin and he has been working through it. He’s a really tough fellow and he’s been trying his best to get out there for us over and over again.

The problem was getting worse, and, in the end, it was too uncomfortable for him to carry on further. We had that scanned and there was an issue. We’ll be without Luke for some time. We don’t know yet how long that will be, but we had to act."

He is probably already back at Wrexham for treatment/rehab. That's usually how it works with loan players and injuries that aren't just knocks or niggles.

TONIGHTS GAME V MAIDENHEAD UTD
at 17:25 11 Sep 2024

A good performance. I came away thinking it was a weird game, probably because it's the first time we've had a team come at us since York away. I think we were the better team by some distance, but credit to Maidenhead they looked twice the team that we faced last season. I think us taking our foot off the gas a little contributed in the second half, but I'm happy to learn those lessons at 3-0 up.

The options we have compared to last season is incredible. I am so impressed with players that have come into the club. I didn't think we needed another forward (not #9) but I get the feeling Ayinde was seen as somebody too good to turn down. You can see he has ability, it didn't always come off last night, but his workrate and physicality is spot on. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. McBride is a completely different player but I rate him, he constantly finds pockets of space. Throw Burger into the mix, and obviously Rodney has been playing there, we really are total options Dale.

TAR and Allarakhia have been superb. Again, it's not just about ability, their workrate is superb. Last night, Maidenhead had done their homework on us and looked to limit our impact down the wings. That leaves a bit more space in the middle and Henry and East are able to exploit that. I am a big fan of Henry, his delivery is wonderful and on the ball he's always looking to pass forwards.

Kairo is a confidence player, no doubt. Without the confidence the recent goals have brought, I think he hits it first time for that 1st goal, which the defenders and keeper had covered. Instead he takes a touch to shift it then takes a shot before the keeper has reset himself. The 2nd goal, he hits it first time because he's flying. It's great to see because he comes in for some stick from some who don't understand what he provides to this team.

It's all a bit good at the minute. I think the mini fightback last night will do us good from a focus perspective. It will probably do fans some good too because you could sense nervousness in the stands too. Onwards and upwards, this group are the real deal.

It's a nice kit.

I think having good players who are well drilled and suited to the way we play may be having a direct impact on the passing!

I like him. He's very cool on the ball and his distribution has very good. Due to the defence we haven't seen much of his shot stopping ability. I'd be happy if we signed him on a longer deal.

Mitchell's first goal last night.

Even more so when a team has done their homework and is setup to limit our effectiveness down the wings. Things become more stretched in the middle and that's when we see the opportunities there. Executing that run and pass gives teams another thing to think about.

We are becoming "total options" Dale.

Just listened to both Jim & Sam Beckwith’s post match interviews. They’re happy but grounded and know there’s more to come. It’s refreshing; the feel good factor is back and we’ve got a reason to feel positive.
