A big thank you to all who have completed the survey in the last 24hrs . Lorna says that by 5pm tonight there has already been around 110 responses - I suspect most of them from all the replies on here as I have not really shared it further than a couple of friends and family. I will sit down with Lorna later and also share with her so many of the encouraging comments you have posted in response to the ask. What a great bunch of folks we are blessed with on here!!! |

Because of playing in a wedding band for 20+ years and I could not drink on a Sat afternoon I have never associated going to LR with buying booze. I brought the old man to the Sheff U game and he insisted buying us a beer before the game - but messed up his pin number enough times that I ended up paying for them both anyway. £14 for two bottles of pizz. It was gone in two gulps and dad ended up putting half of his in the bin as he needed a pizz before we went up to our seats It's a difficult choice because if they have everyone's decent lager, you get to the stage where the person serving is waiting 5 mins whilst Jim is phoning Steve to ask whether Dave said he wanted Moretti or Kingfisher and to tell Rob that there is no IPA this week so does he want Moretti, Kingfisher or a bottle of Marti Cifuentes? Keep it simple, keep it expensive, those who want to drink it will still drink it. |

Sorry Nix and others but my eldest daughter needs willing male participants to complete a survey on men's attitudes to mental health. Some of you may remember me posting over the years about my eldest girls severe mental health illness, which at age 26 she is still dealing with and is awaiting treatment for an eating disorder and extreme OCD. However, the good news is that she has a life plan now and is in her final year of a Psychology degree via the Open University. Due to her inadvertently already being an expert in mental health conditions her final module is focusing on the attitude of British men in the 2020s towards seeking help for their mental health - and whether it is more likely that they will seek help if they come in to contact with other men who have previously sort help. For it to be a valid submission she needs a minimum of 150 qualifying responders and I told her I knew just the place where there were thousands of 18+ men whose mental health has been tested to the limits due to their football club!!! I piloted the survey and it does ask some challenging questions on attitudes but I can assure you on her behalf (and the introduction to the survey confirms) that it is 100% anonymous and no personal data (including IP addresses) are tracked or stored etc. On my daughter's behalf I would love as many of you to help and participate in this online survey which should take around 10-15min max to complete. https://openss.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_cHXi0UfEjtDpI8e Thanks Liam |

A beautiful song. I sometimes listen to it on repeat and think how old was McCartney when he was writing stuff like this? In terms of my favourite I just cannot pick one as I am a Beatles addict. |

Never had heard of the dukes until this morning when I listened to Andy Partridge who was the guest today on the Rockentuers podcast. |

Very sad week Brian - so many of our age group mourning the loss of Rick Buckler. Ironically we were more worried that Bruce Foxton was in trouble due to really bad health. Neil bumped in to him in Covent Garden (I think it was over Christmas) and was talking to Bruce and Neil said he look really shook. I asked Neil what they discussed and he said 'Arsenal v Tottenham' as apparently Bruce supports Spurs I mean all that music and bass they could have had a chat about in the queue and he asked him what team he supported. |
