With a few new signings announced today, and a few tentatively linked (it's not official until it's on the website folks), I wondered how the Premier League squad was taking shape. I have listed this on the proviso of two per position with an extra GK, midfielder and striker thrown in too:
GK: Green?, Cerny, Murphy (is he still with us?)
RB: Onuoha, Young
LB: Fabio? Traore
CB: Nelsen, Ferdinand, Hill, Connolly/AN Other
RM: Mackie, SWP
LM: Taarabt, Ephraim/AN Other
CM: Faurlin, Diakite?, Derry, Buszaky, Barton
CF: Cisse, Zamora, Johnson, Helguson, Bothroyd/Campbell
This to me suggests we still need a centre-back, left-winger and a defensive midfielder, in addition to the long mooted signings of Fabio, Green and Diakite. I'd be surprised if Connolly, Ephraim or Buszaky make our 25. Signings like Simon Kjaer, Nigel de Jong and Matt Jarvis would be nice |  | | |  |

Agree with everything you said until the last line!
Simon Kjaer was shocking for Roma last season and would command a hefty fee.
De Jong is on astronomical wages at City and even if Hughes could convince him to join a smaller club, i think we can get better value elsewhere.
Jarvis is decent, but i suspect due to competition for his signature he'll go for an inflated fee. If we can get him for around £5m then go for it. | | | |

I also agree with everything but the last line!
I think Buzsaky certainly warrants a plac in the 25 (assuming he signs a new contract) - I would be more concerned with handing Barton a place given he is suspended for 2/3 of the games for the first 25-man squad.
If we get offered money for Connolly or Hogan I'd take it and replace them.

Pending disciplinary proceedings, the earliest he could be available is early November. Add to that with the non-existent Reserve games, he won't be fit so will need several more weeks before he's fit enough to play by which time it's December. Would be a gamble to include him in the initial 25 for 4 weeks. | | | |

agree dependant on who will sign but if we have cover send him off on loan to championship he can train with us till november then get some games in championship or scotland till january and recall if deserved | |
