Having read the report on the first half and seeing the second it would seem as if we had enough possession further up the park but PNE defence coped well defensively making it hard for us to create clear chances and not able to make the most few we had. Still missing that quality up top? I thought against Blackburn that between Bianchini and Ginnelly they brought a quality onto the pitch that kepted Blackburn on the backfoot wonder if together they could have brought more to our game to unlock a stubborn defence.
Fulton brought on supposedly to help against an aerial bombardment and Allen's quality left on the bench.
Three defenders, three midfielders and two attackers on the bench sums up the game plan to keep ourselves defensively solid with the aim to get at the very least a point and nick the three.
Well earned point given this years preformances but need more up top to keep the pressure on teams to be deserving of the three points.

Even though they overran us for most of the game they only had one clear chance, our defence won us that point.

Defence yes......one?

Good point away from home. Will take that. Win your home games, and don't lose away makes you a difficult team to beat. I still think we're in a much better place than we were 3/4 weeks ago. The stronger the defensive unit becomes without conceding the more confidence the team will have going forward, especially at home.

Tough game against Boro coming up who are pushing for those playoff places, but I don't see any reason why we can't be optimistic and take all 3pts on Saturday. COYS!

Perhaps last night was painful football wise but a point earned was good...never been a happy hunting ground

Yes one clear chance, just after halftime, the others weren't because our fantastic defence made them not clear chances, but ateotd it's my opinion 😉

We lacked cohesion, style, a clear identity and couldn’t string two passes together for most of the game which from our perspective was quite poor. On the rare occasion we got forward there was no support, players isolated and big gaps between the lines. It wasn’t a close unit and although our lads tried hard and defended well at times with excellent goalkeeping from Vigouroux that was a fortunate point. Helped by some poor finishing from Preston. We have to be a lot better than that and I’m sure we will be.

It was at times, the positive is the point in what is becoming a desperate scramble at the bottom.
Performance wise I agree, the cohesion wasn’t there. It was just a very average mid table game between two mid table sides.

Three weeks ago we would have been very happy to be considered a mid table side. In football things change very quickly.

Little things that make all the difference, Darling pushing forward out from the back getting high up the park, cannot remember who it was but they dropped back into the hole that Darling left, we have seen it too many time where that hole has not been closed off leaving us wide open to counter attacks as we press forward. Football is so often a numbers game, we need to expect mistakes and cover them as far as possible. We got away with one by Fulton but was he passing to the player who let it go? Mistake by both?

And there is a lot more pain to come until we bring in a striker, I mean one good enough to be called a striker.
The kind of striker that can at least hold thhe ball up and cause their defence problems, even if not scoring goals.

It isn't just a striker we need FB, we need 2 centre midfielders and 2 wingers to make us competitive, will it happen? I seriously doubt it unfortunately.

We have signed abject dross in EOM, the Ukrainian, and VIP
Key and Tymon are hardly solid full backs
Both appalling
It's curiously we offload these jokes for players and bring in some physicality
There is nowt wrongveithbplayetsxeho are not bumped off the ball like a seven year old
EOM is beyond embarrassing
He is getting away with murder really

You forgot centrehalves as well. Hope Ginnelly can be eased back into the front line by the end of the season for next season. Will O'Brien, Peart-Harris, Delacroix, Darling, Allen, Naughton and Christie be here next season and if teams come hunting the likes of Franco? Lots of holes in the squad need to be filled and of a quality.

Key and Tymon are decent players, the latter actually scores goals. Eom displayed a better side to his game this week despite his lack of muscle?

There will be a lot of players leaving in the summer.

I think about ten, The three I mentioned won’t be amongst the names to go, unless someone comes in for them.

Our GK and back 4 are more than fine, it's our bench which is the problem, we have no quality on there to bring on to keep up the standard.

We had fulton 🙄 and bless him cooper alongside a decent bianchini as our attacking subs, that's why we need decent replacements.

Allen should retire along with naughton, fulton should be paid off as he is a headless chicken who is a waste of a shirt.

Replace those three with decent championship players and that will take us a bit further on, get a decent championship standard striker to help vip and that could be crucial.

First things first, let's make sure we say in the championship.
