Cifuentes gone? on 19:21 - Nov 24 by Northernr | I have listened, and I have engaged. I seem to do nothing but listen to you on here at the moment. I simply don’t agree with you. Nothing to do with party lines or ad hominem waffle or anything else, I just think you’re wrong. And, again, there is no need to speak to me like that.

Unlike, it seems, a number on this board, I don't really care a jot about the 'who' behind postings here; I mostly just care about what's being said. Most of what I write reflects this, and is suitably resourced, as in my last post citing an interview Marti gave in August to try to challenge the misleading idea that he's been moaning abour recruitment since Reading. Just for once, it would be nice if actual counter-arguments like this were acknowledged. It would make the place seem a bit more adult. When I think something wrong, I'll call it out with reasons. If my points are succcessfully counter-argued, I'm glad to accept it. Most of the time, however, I find they're not. The rest is, of course, speculation and opinion, which is what makes a superbly trivial board like this a chaotic kind of para-footballing fun - at least some of the time. PS I'm sure this innocuous post will still elicit the priggish 'ignores' and supercilous sneers from the usual one or two, but it's really water off a duck's back. [Post edited 24 Nov 19:45]

As a writer, I love words, but I'm sadly crap at Scrabble! Glad I'm helping you enlarge your word horde though, with my pomposity, persecution complex, and pornographic proclivities! It's truly fascinating to learn so much about myself (or rather abour others) from people who don't know me at all.

He has pride and is clearly not enjoying this so what's to stop him throwing the towel in and walking away from this s**t show He is not to blame for this. Look at another club who are suffering from a huge amount of injuries... Man City, 5 losses on the bounce. Completely unheard of up there and he has just done exactly like Marti, signed a new contract. But we know he has the support of his board with competent people in charge, oh and a lot more money If we could get a fully fit first choice XI and some shrewd transfer business in January we will get out of this if Marti stays Nourry on the other hand, I have no clue - But getting rid of the owners will not solve the problem - We will really be up the proverbial creek then

No I called you narcissistic which is not nasty , it’s a fact after reading post after post of yours claiming anyone who disagrees with you …that’s every one…is being horrible to you, And I used the term clown shoes which is a term used by certain types for describing something ridiculous. Cifuentes gone? on 20:22 - Nov 24 with 2519 views | kernowhoop | I do not want Marti Cifuentes to leave. I do not see how he can go from the raved-about manager who dug QPR out of a hole last season, built such a reputation that it caused fans to worry that he would be snapped up by a bigger club, to being incapable of saving QPR from relegation in 2024-2025. It does not make sense. I am worried, however, that his departure is already planned. Did I read somewhere that David Wagner was seen at Loftus Road recently, or did I imagine that?

Yes you did read that . By all accounts true but didn’t he have a link to the Sunderland manager or something like that, hence him being at the game ?

That was the French guy Vignal who is mates with the Sunderland manager, unless Wagner does too and I wasn't aware. Either way, he wouldn't excite me but I presume we have a lot of vultures circling anyway.

I would be very surprised if other out of work managers were invited to the club given that Marty and Xavi recently signed contract extensions. There is obviously a problem with recruitment that perhaps Marti wasn't fully consulted on and of course half the team out (a number of creative players and a key CB) that hasn't helped. I think the hand that Marti has been dealt this season has turned out to be so much weaker than what he eventually had last term and it's showing. But, the players are very obviously behind Marti so really loves the club and the fans go, even through this cycle, would just be a total disaster.

The problem with the owners is that they keep making bad decisions. All companies make the odd wrong decision, but to keep repeating them over a sustained period of time can only suggest they are either incompetent or don't care. I have the feeling we have owners that are both of those, and we will continue to fall.

I don't have any 'golden rules', so you're a self-justifying, over-generalising, caricaturing, wriggling-on-the-stick of your own words, sir! I'd say, of the two of us, all the evidence (self-righteousness, self-denial etc. etc) suggests you're the tacky narcissist.

The point is I can't decide, as, in regard to a number of points I've made (including, with evidence, my point that Marti was actually very happy with his squad on 31 August), these simply haven't been forthcoming, so there's not actually anything to discuss. As I've surmised, I think there's a human-all-too-human tendency on this board for some to prefer magnifying minor ad hominem spats/wounded amour propre at the expense of actually having an adult debate. Most human groupings do tend toward cultism (scapegoating, projecting, idealisation etc.), of course. (And, yes, I can sometimes get dragged into the above disreputable mud-slinging, before the barrage of abuse from the usual suspects gets hurled my way.) [Post edited 24 Nov 21:28]

Do you ever reflect on how you come across? It's not your opinions that winds people up - you regularly make prescient observations, but it's the way you make them. You come across as the kind of self important asshole that corners people at parties. Just dial it down for goodness sake.

Interesting thread Stainrod The way you write and reply to me suggests you could well be autistic, aspergers syndrome ie you seem to have a loose command around social niceties or you could indeed be experiencing ADHD symptoms e3xplains the way your focuses end up a tad nasty !! Not critising yourself - they are genuine conditions and can cause difficulties for individuals. I have worked in such fields for lengthy period now. Regards this actual discussion, if you were offered a longer term contract with higher income, if that happened to you in a scenario, you are suggesting that's bad form. So to ask the question as you are extremely vigilant in stating your morals, from all you have said in that position you would turn it down ?? That's how your statements suggest your own higher integrity..... No one turns down a better contract even if they think their times.are numbered. But you would turn this down as you are a man of honour ???? [Post edited 24 Nov 21:42]

Cifuentes gone? on 22:01 - Nov 24 with 1699 views | Ned_Kennedys | It would be wrong to sack Cifuentes now as he has had to contend with a terrible run of injuries to important players. Most of all Frey: I said at the end of the transfer window we’d be screwed if he got injured and sure enough that’s where we are. However we have most of those players back in the next few weeks and Cifuentes has got to get the best out of this squad to generate some wins: if not then he could have no complaints if he loses his job. He has credit in the bank but no manager/head coach can go into December with one win in total and no home wins all season with expectations of remaining employed.
