What did Tony Fernandez say? 20:33 - Nov 6 with 2250 views | PeterHucker | 11 years ago our owner was saying that they’d allowed the club to have “their pants pulled down” by a series of charlatan managers / players / agents and they wouldn’t be so naive again. It’s becoming a pretty fücking long list now of people who’ve taken these owners for a ride and made a lot of money out of doing so. Their metaphorical pants have never actually got pulled back up, have they? Redknapp Hughes Joorabchian Rigg McLaren Beale Probably quite a few others I’ve forgotten Countless mercenary bastårds & who’ve been vastly overpaid while playing shít phoning it in and then laughing about it on a podcast a few years later. (I’d like to put some of those cünts under a fücking cosh!) (and I’d happily let their scum agents take 10% of the beating as well) The latest instalment of “How not to run a football club” is some Boss Baby being handsomely paid for the job of recruiting us a new CEO / Director of Football. Then turning round at the end of that process and saying I’ve found the man you’re looking for and it’s someone who’s never held a position remotely linked to either of those roles and you won’t believe this but it’s me. When Mark Bowen tried that trick at Reading a few years ago, didn’t we all point and laugh and quite rightly take the piss? Anyway, given our owners serial incompetence and inability to spot someone on the make, I wonder if anyone can help me get an appointment with our board. I've sold monorails to Brockway, Ogdenville and North Haverbrook and by gum it put them on the map. I think this monorail could be a very exciting development for our club and I’m confident that if I can just get in front of the board I could get them to commit serious money to this project.
What did Tony Fernandez say? on 21:23 - Nov 6 with 2066 views | stowmarketrange | If you look at where we were when we stole Warnock from Palace and where they were,it makes me wonder how could it have gone so wrong for us and so mostly right for them. They were a few minutes away from going out of business when Parish came in.Now look at them.Similar sized club and fan base with a new owner who’d never done it before. Is it 12 consecutive seasons in the premier league and cup final appearances, with a couple of close relegation battles along the way.

I did some work for the Premier League on disability access over several seasons between 2016 and 2022 and was very impressed by Steve Parish and his management team at Palace. Arguably more buy-in to the project from them than at most other Clubs I visited. Over the years they made lots of positive changes and struck me as a very well run club.
What did Tony Fernandez say? on 22:29 - Nov 6 with 1861 views | SydneyRs | It is actually quite depressing that the best clubs like us can seemingly hope for is kicking around the bottom half of the prem for years like Palace and Brentford. To me doesn't seem that much more interesting than doing the same in the championship (although even that is starting to look beyond us).

At least Parish actually supported the club that he bought unlike Fernandes and Tango & Cash.We just seem to have gone from 1 disaster to another over the best part of 30 years.

30 years you say. I think it goes back to when Jim Gregory sold up and David Bulstrode died on the job. Even then one could argue that the day following Terry Venables departure was the day we started to get the really big decisions massively wrong.

Not really we had a great period in the nineties under Gerry Francis and dare I say it Richard Thomson. Once Chris Wright took over the wheels came off but we recovered and Briatore and Ecllestone got us back in the Premier League. The recent issues can be traced back to the sacking of Warnock. A milestone that will be marked in our history for generations to come……

Sure Francis first time round was arguably the best we played since the 70s, but his departure was rooted in the years that lead up to Thompson taking over. That decision to let Gerry go was head scratching then. That said: Thompson now looks like a rocket scientist compared to the crooks, clowns, and charlatans that have followed in his footsteps. Football and QPR seemed so much more enjoyable and simpleback then.

I used to work for Steve Parish's old company Tag (well, an affiliate within the company). Probably the worst job I ever had! Total lack of effective management and organisation. Although clearly he's done OK at Palace.

It was. Glad I have those memories in these dark times. Feel sorry for the young supporters watching Rangers now...they are really suffering.

Couldn’t agree more. Been working at Selhurst park doing waterproofing works underneath the Holmsdale end and also at the Academy. Seems like a very happy ship . If the staff and academy players are judge of a footballs clubs health well it’s no suprise this club is thriving . We are a monumental shiteshow at the moment. Can’t see much changing in the near future.

Quite worrying really. Having the good memories keeps me coming back. The young supporters now havent anything to cling to will they stay around like we have. I am not sure they will🤔
