Wasn't it Gab Sutton who predicted them to win the Championship this season?

Wondered what has changed since last season. Or is it one of those rare periods that football clubs have, where they actually appoint a decent manager who gets to work with some decent players?

Gab's main point was that they had a young squad full of potential that was finding it's feet in the Championship and had been a bit inconsistent, but they were primed to mature this season and coalesce into a proper outfit. Excellent call by someone who has encyclopaedic knowledge of the EFL.

Well it seems they made the right choice as manager to bring that potential to fruition.

they looked a bit of a joke in the summer when they kept going for different managers but they seem to have struck gold, they look a good side.

I thought he was insane. So did a lot of Sunderland fans to be fair.

Hell of a call.

Yes, they getting better each game, as mentioned young squad learning quickly.

Ground out a good result last night against Luton.

( Must also put up the Chris Iwoloma? commentary as the worst match commentary I've heard on Sky, ( and that's saying something).

Sunderland's Riggs and Romaine looks very lively.

Incredible and doing it all with easily the youngest average squad age for minutes played too, as opposed to us with the 6th oldest!

I much prefer Iwolumo’s co-commentary to that of Andy Bloody Hinchcliffe.
