I have lost track of the spree of signings M&T have made over recent days and weeks. One could be forgiven for thinking they have a more expansive budget than some clubs playing at League Two level.

Which begs the question ....who on earth is funding operations at Park Drive?

After suffering a string of humiliating defeats the boot is well and truly on the other foot after signing virtually a new squad at break neck speed.

With the apparent recent investment M&T should have their sites set on The Conference South at the very least.

That could make for a very interesting local football scene .

Some well produced edited highlights on the M&T website....a 5-2 away victory at Stowmarket from Tuesday night.

Excellent camera work and far superior to many league clubs with some innovative camera positions.

When the players were walking onto the pitch you could be forgiven for thinking that most of the Stowmarket team appeared to be of school age.

Not the goalkeeper though, and not the type of physique one associates with this position in the pyramid. Having said that, he pulls off some good saves.

And yet another 'internal' appointment as Colchester United and Maldon & Tiptree appear to be joined at the hip.

I'm none too sure if this arrangement has had any significant benefit to either club over the past few seasons.

DAVE Huzzey has been appointed manager of Maldon and Tiptree.
Good experience has games do mean points rather than Academy football. Etherington still on the payroll so guess U21 position is available .

There is already cup fever on Riverside Estate where the Stanway Rovers superfan wears their shirt with pride!

Rover's fans also include the Downing Street cat who was sporting their rosette behind the railings last night with Sky News in attendance and Mrs Starmer looking bemused. 😊😊😊😊

Seems as though the 'makeover' is continuing over at 'The Jammers' ....there was a sign on a tree 'Player's Wanted'....and it seems to have attracted wannabe footballers from all over the Heybridge Basin and beyond...virtually a new squad is being assembled.

There was quite a bit of publicity floating around when Mitchell Cowling was announced as General Manager but nothing of his departure ( as far as l am aware ).

I think they are playing Colchester United again tonight ( Under 21's ).

My 'mole' at M&T has lost interest in the club and burrowed underground at a nearby golf course.

My Maldon & Tiptree mole resurfaced last night in Great Yarmouth to take in the Gorleston v M&T encounter.

Gorleston scored a winner in the 7th minutes of injury time - just seconds from the end to clinch a 2 -1 victory.

Sounds as though our sister club should have won.

The crowd was just 90 in that lovely old ground.

Five fairly rapid second half substitutions by M&T ensured for multiple formations in the frantic closing stages.

A booking for Wordsworth but he did a 90 minute stint.

So, family owned property company, the Drewitt-Barlow Organisation, what was it that first attracted you to M&T and the 20 acres of land that comes with their stadium?

A bit of googling and they look like real characters, if it wasn’t for people like them risking their cash, to create jobs and trying to make the area a better place (and a few quid along the way), the UK would be in even deeper shite. It will certainly be a change from Cowling Jammers and their long suffering supporters. As long as they pay their tax in the UK, good luck to them.

Is this 'stage one' of the Cowlings moving away from football?

It would fit with selling anyone that gets an offer.

Ownership (i.e. shareholders) is not necessarily the same thing, but Companies House lists a Richard Martin Cowling as the sole current director of Maldon & Tiptree Football Club Limited.

I believe he was also a director of Col U from 2008 to 2016.

So we appear to have two local companies who have pledged £350,000 and £200,000 for three year deals at Maldon and Tiptree that include kit branding, stadium re- naming, ground signage and player sponsorship and the like?

All this for a club that are attracting around 150 fans to home matches?

The new Sporting Director ( should any deal go through ) is none other than Mitchell Cowling?

Robbie Cowling sponsors the Colchester Community Stadium and the shirts.

Colchester United have not been able to attract any major sponsors since the days of The Weston Homes Community Stadium.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

I am trying to imagine a football club where the background staff which may include in excess of 35 kitchen personnel and an additional gathering of individuals along with the coaching and playing members may outnumber the fan base.

Two promotions would put Maldon and Tiptree at Conference South level.

The sponsorship packages seem top heavy even at that level.

It did appear that a cash injection may have occured a few weeks ago - maybe this is linked

Or maybe not?
