Tigers at Layer Road 21:11 - Sep 23 with 53434 views | SparkfilmsTV | In a strange twist of events l found myself in conversation with a young lady who had attended Layer Road for a match against Hull City in our first season in The Championship. The 5-1 encounter. We were attending a promo evening for a band called The Datsuns in North London in 2008. During the evening she explained that she had been present at a party that made the national news due to the tragic death of someone by the name of Mark Blanco. The incident occurred in December 2006. This incident will be shown on Channel 4 on Monday night at 22.00 in an hour long documentary and several people known to me have made contributions. It may be of interest to some. I am very much hoping that the police will reinvestigate the death of Mark Blanco as a result of what will be included in the content. I know that what l was told by this young lady 15 years ago has been instrumental in the making of this documentary.

Tigers at Layer Road on 20:28 - Dec 8 with 615 views | SparkfilmsTV | I think it was 1976. I was at a party in Maiden Lane, Covent Garden. It was held in a design studio and there were dancers there. Writing the 'Random Thoughts and Memories' section bought this back to me. Being in Covent Garden a delivery of fresh flowers arrived around 2am. Nothing unusual there but a couple of the guests began to eat them. I ended up getting into The Royal Opera House with a dancer through a side door at 3am. I am incorporating this into a very experimental written piece that is a self project. Maybe I'll put it up on here but it is very cynical about a certain religion and may be too controversial to post. The intention is to blend poetics, prose, conversation and a short story that all merge in together but the reader ( and barely the writer ) can't really determine when one part begins and another one finishes. It has dancers. Rainbows. The Pope Peter Doherty on the Holloway Road. Children in a play park. It's quite likely no one will like it, myself included perhaps.
Tigers at Layer Road on 13:40 - Dec 9 with 562 views | SparkfilmsTV | Quote from the film 'Bonnie and Clyde' 'And you might be the best damn girl in Texas'. It's moving on towards a hundred years that the following verses were written by Bonnie Parker. From Irving to West Dallas viaduct Is known as the Great Divide Where the women are kin And the men are men And they don't 'stool' on Bonnie and Clyde Some day they'll go down together They'll bury them side by side To few it'll be grief To the law a relief But it's death for Bonnie and Clyde Bonnie and Clyde was featured on BBC 2 last night. I watched it virtually spellbound. Gene Wilder's facial expressions in the car are the mark of a comedy genius. The 1967 release was an epic in its day, but if anything, l like it even more all these years later. The close up's in the opening sequence have immense visual power.

Tigers at Layer Road on 16:35 - Dec 9 with 533 views | SparkfilmsTV | About five years ago a notebook belonging to Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow that had been in the ownership of family members came up for auction. The notebook was effectively a journal of their experiences while they were on the run. I will key this in as written by Clyde Barrow with his spelling to keep it authentic. Intro - 'Bonnie's Just written a poem The Story of Bonnie and Clyde So l will try my hand at poetry With her riding by my side' We donte want to hurt anney one But we have to Steal to eat And if it's a shoot out to live That's the way it will have to bee We have kidnapped some people And tied them to a tree But not so tight that after we Were gone tha could not get themselves free We are going home tomorrow To look in on the folks We will meet then outside Cape Vine If the Laws donte get there first Note to above from Clyde Barrow - 'Now that's not as good as Bonnie's. So l guess l will call it a flop But please God Just one moore Visit before we are Put on the spot' I don't call that a flop. It's just so vivid and real.

Tigers at Layer Road on 19:54 - Dec 11 with 328 views | SparkfilmsTV | Taken from 'Ipswich Zero 6' This is a short passage from the 'Reflections' section towards the end of the book. It is Christmas Day, 2006... I walked past 79 London Road, the house where the accused was living. I know these properties to be split into flats and bedsits. It is a world where people arrive then disappear and are never seen again. There is still a white tent outside and the scaffold and tarpaulin remain. There are two police officers at the front of the property. One a WPC. They seem to be sharing some kind of joke. At the back of the property l could see two other police officers. The media have all gone. No need to tape the road off anymore. Just a few days ago there were media people here from all over the world. Just when l was getting to the exit of this part of the zone something finally caught my eye. In the garden of 111 London Road there were five candles burning brightly, protected from the breeze. I wanted to knock on the door and thank those who lived there for their consideration, but it was Christmas morning and perhaps best if l did not disturb them. I crossed Handford Road and went back to my car, passing the portable white information centre that the police had set up about ten days ago. The door was shut. It seemed to be unmanned. Tigers at Layer Road on 21:13 - Dec 13 with 206 views | SparkfilmsTV | A few of us dinosaur creatives had a seasonal meet up yesterday. It is not just me who misses the vibe and energy of days long past....one of our group is doing creative and design work at no cost to keep his mind active. For my part l was quite pleased to report that l have written one million words in a calendar year and that l have experimented with a number of AI packages - something none of my compatriots have attempted as yet. The staff who were serving us must have thought we had dropped off another planet as the terminology / speak we engage in still is alien to the new breed. The seventies and eighties was a golden era in advertising but l wish l could start it all again in the 'now' because the advances in tech would make our work much easier and less time consuming. I saw something quite special this week while re- watching 'Once upon a time in Hollywood' ( QT ), it was the street mime sequence by 'Pussycat' - l would love to find out how that evolved while filming....it may have been the actress who devised that on the shoot....unless QT was behind it....either way it was the best mime piece for teardrops l have ever seen.
Tigers at Layer Road on 07:11 - Dec 14 with 164 views | noah4x4 | Ray, reading your dabbling with AI intrigues me. My daughter in law (a highly qualified lawyer with a leading USA company) recently gave me a remarkable demonstration of AI. We could never routinely afford her fees, nor she waste time on something so trivial, but AI delivered an eye-opening result in the time it took us to share a pot of tea. Following an appalling family meal at a restaurant where everything went wrong (delays, poor service, poor food, wine spilled, customer clothing lost by the hotel etc), she simply dictated brief bullet point notes chronologically highlighting each misdemeanor then adding the relevant point of law into her firm’s AI assisted word processing system and within a single minute it had produced the most amazingly compelling letter of complaint, with content, text, spelling, grammar all 100% perfect. All she then had to do was a single read through to sign it off, but remarkably she found zero errors in its two sheets of A4 content. Apparently, the output success rate is above 95% and rarely does she need to edit anything. The entire process took under five minutes. This system has apparently had a hugely positive impact on productivity. It appears that being a brilliant, knowledgeable lawyer (or any other skill-set) doesn’t always dovetail with having outstanding spontaneous letter writing and even the best must work hard on their wordsmith skills. This AI system apparently churns out impeccable prose and hence time, and hence cost savings should result, and as in this case, bringing normally unaffordable legal services to all. Yes, AI can get it wrong, an example being the recent BBC criticism of Apple’s AI Newsbot misreporting its broadcast content. The example I have quoted illustrates that the safeguard of a human check is desirable. But the demonstration I witnessed simply blew me away. As a (retired) Chartered Marketer, the potential is self-evident to me. My basic creative ideas were often genius, but I then employed an army of copywriters and artists to turn them into more effective client presentations and then into final advertising or broadcast copy. I now envisage AI and its linguistic engineering might have the impact of a new Industrial Revolution. In summary, AI itself won’t take your job, but somebody knowing how to use AI probably will. The cleverest, most intelligent and knowledgeable (like my daughter in law) have already worked this out and she has soared to the top of her profession in minimal time. The first step is understanding, not fearing its capabilities. If only I had my time again…….

Hello Phil, your daughter in law's use of AI is a perfect example. Some people from our generation may be reluctant to delve into AI capability. The bullet points aspect is of interest because l was briefed ( pre AI ) to write a simplistic outline of Ian Brown's ( former Stones Roses's ) career by an American artist management team for a US audience - that being a little different from a British audience. He said 'Just do it as a list of bullet points', which is what l did in 2006. I don't think AI was being used in '06 but the American rational for written work interested me. My associates, who l met up with on Thursday looked quite perplexed when l attempted to explain how you can make a soundtrack by just keying the words into pop up boxes. I sent demo copies of the work to several record company owners and even they couldn't believe how the work had been created without humans in a recording studio. I should add though that l went through quite a long process to find a voice that suited the work. The female voice from Ukraine was perfect and l ended up writing for her voice at times. I have been writing non stop this year as anyone who follows this thread will be aware. As you rightly point out - copywriting is most definitely something that is available through AI - this is the most incredible step forward.
Tigers at Layer Road on 09:01 - Dec 14 with 134 views | SparkfilmsTV | A little add on to the tech revolution. During 2005 l was in the company of a band - Death in Vegas in London and we were discussing how they had used a number of guest vocalists on a recent album ( Scorpio Rising ). The ISDN sound file mode had been around for a while at the time but l was very much off pace on it's capability. One of the questions l put to them was 'What was it like working with Liam Gallagher?' They said 'Oh, we hadn't met him at the time, sent him a demo over ISDN and he sent back one example of the lead vocal which was perfect and it went straight onto the track'. They used the same mode of recording with Iggy Pop too who was in New York and he kindly gave them six variations of the vocal to select from. COVID created an even more concentrated time portal for creatives and musicians to experiment and that practice is even more prevalent now. Exciting but also troubled times..
