Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 09:04 - Jul 10 with 10033 views | Northernr | Snap reaction is that this has been coming for some time. Every time they convert the debt to equity Ruben has been paying it, steadily increasing his shareholding and decreasing Tony's. Also heard the American investor, Reilly, has been quite influential behind the scenes this summer so maybe he's having more of a role.

Out of the picture but still.meddled in signings and appointed Mclaren Good riddance imo he's one step down from Chris Wright as one of the worst owners in our history

Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 09:35 - Jul 10 with 9543 views | Bluce_Ree | The oddest thing about the Tony Fernandes era was seeing dirty scutters on Twitter tweeting him with sob stories asking for money.
| Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. |

Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 09:42 - Jul 10 with 9418 views | Lblock | Now what? Errrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmm. "Barbara......... fetch me that champagne I've been saving" A man who threw away the best chance this club has ever had to be safe, solid and competing at the highest level with finance you could only dream of. Three different people who can all be judged separately rather than one blanket "careful what you wish for". LF: yes, agreed, an easy scapegoat who did a huge amount of difficult club-saving work. Let's judge wisdom of his leaving when his replacement has been in place for a few seasons. Hoos: huge improvement on predecessors such as Beard, Russell. Do other similar-sized clubs have better CEOs though? Yes, also true. Let's see who we get next if he does go. TF: a ruinous chairman who leaves the place immeasurably worse off than when he found it, which is the only way to judge him. Pretty much the only good decisions he made were those to create buffers between himself and decision-making. He fluffed every call. (For what its worth, a Spurs fan I know is pretty convinced Ramsey is already back there in his old role, so that would be another big change coming)
Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 09:51 - Jul 10 with 9275 views | dmm | So who's bought Fernandes' shares?
Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 09:56 - Jul 10 with 9215 views | Hastings_Hoops | When there’s a reasonable split in shareholding decisions made are arguably more ‘vanilla’. With Tony out of the frame and I assume Ruben 90%+ majority owner we need to hope his decisions are prudent and for the long term benefit of the club… Ruben now benefits from a sizeable increase in his share of GDV on Loftus Road which could be good or could be bad.

This all day. Seems like someone who cares, but failed to surround himself with people who knew the business in the early days. Sadly he invested in the futures of Joey Barton, SWP, Boswinga, Redknapp, Hughes and his agent mates, Julio Cesar, Diakite, Anton Ferdinand, Jay Bothroyd, DJ Campbell, Andy Johnson, Granero, Remy, MBia, etc., etc. rather than investing in QPR. The saving grace is that he did not do a Caterham on us and stayed around pumping money in. Unfortunately yet again QPR missed the boat in his watch - buying our way up the league (which, let's face it is what Briatore did) is no longer an option, so we need to get there on footballing merit. This time, I genuinely cannot see a path back to the top flight in my lifetime. Tony and his team had that last chance and a f-in good one too it should have been and they blew it.

I love Rangers with the blindness sometimes more like parenthood but financially that's an awful lot of lipstick to get on a pig.
Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 10:06 - Jul 10 with 9072 views | daveB | So many sliding doors moments in those early days where the mad spending could have worked. Other clubs made similar mad spending sprees but stayed up and were able to rebuild. He was stupid and a bit unlucky as well. Main positive has been he hasn't pulled plug on us which I feared he would after the 2nd relegation
Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 10:08 - Jul 10 with 9060 views | BostonR | It’s all on Ruben unless another serious investor is waiting. He is now essentially fully-funding the £1.5M loss per month from his own pocket and I guess he’s been doing that for sometime. On the upside he has not waivered from that commitment and we can only hope he is sticking around. On the downside, if he feels he’s done enough and walks away without selling (which I think is very unlikely) we are shafted. He must have other interested parties. Despite our current woes we remain an attractive proposition being based in London.
Tony Fernandes leaves the club on 10:13 - Jul 10 with 8962 views | 08olesen | Smart move by TF. His share value would take a serious hit in L1 next year. We really need to get a grip of the ship. I have never not wanted a season to start but this is how I feel about this one. Hopefully the shares have gone to Mittal, we need to stop mucking around. [Post edited 10 Jul 2023 10:13]
