I go training on a Wednesday night; other than me they are all Cardiff fans and they are desperate we keep Martin in the job. I think our poll might not be an accurate picture of a Swans view.

If this was under Cooper, that I can understand. I made similar points myself regarding his criticism despite clearly over achieving.
However this situation is quite different. We were 15th last season and are 22nd now. There is every reason to be critical and we as a fan base shouldn’t be accepting or excusing it.
An absolute inept egomaniac is in charge of us, using us as his personal vanity project. Everyone should be furious.
We are 22nd now.
Even someone as negative as yourself will surely give us a few more games before spouting off league positions?

I agree have to give him at least a few more games. For those panicking, just look at Cooper and Forest ( as much as I hate to use him as an example). Way too early to be worrying about league positions. This site has been so depressing with repest and rinse of the same negative posts.

Why is it depressing. You must be very delicate. Suck it up. If one is happy right now then I personally find it weird.

We are drifting away under Martin .
Not at all delicate. Just baffles me why you and some other posters on here can gain so much joy out of our current position on and off the field. I get the impression that you would all be totally gutted if RM pulls a rabbit out of the hat and finds a winning formula starting tomorrow? Must be hard work being such a pessimistic person? Why you are bothering going tomorrow is beyond me

It is beyond you becaue of what you read on here and how you see the content. I'm looking forward to the day but not the game;how could one.Im hoping to have an interesting day with leaned Counsel and pitting my wits against someone with class.

How can one see the content any other way ? With some posters such as yourself there is no attempt to present a balanced argument. John does seem a very eloquent person. However with Swans every matchday is a cause for renewed optimism with me. I just cannot see the point of living glass half empty. As I have posted before, real life has thrown too much pain to allow myself to get depressed by results on the football field

I think what winds people up is take last night for example not a peep when we were winning.
Then as soon as it goes pear shaped you can't wait to stick the boot in.
It does give the impression you are enjoying it.
What winds up proper Swans fans is posts like this Guthrie.
The happy clappers ( who, by definition never ever any cogent rationale) Go Missing when we lose.
What proper fans do is a deep(ish) dive on - What went wrong, how can we fix it ?'
The sooner the proper fans speak rationally, the better.
It really ain't rocket science stuff, it's such the pity so many here lack the fundamental, basic understanding of how to win, and how to win football matches.
The happy clappers always go missing. Fact. It's a Loser thing, anathema to us winners.

I put you right on this one earlier this week and will do it again. I for one ( and several of the same mindset) who attended the game had a long journey, got back in the early hours then the following day had important things to attend to. However I did post when I had the opportunity. You often go missing when Swans win. Hypocrite or what?

What I find hard to fathom is that because we’ve had some very bleak times in the past, we should be ambivalent about things now. Life just doesn’t work like that. Me and my now wife met as students, had some barren years financially. Now with a decent job, do you think we’d be content if I took a minimum wage role and our standard of living decreased dramatically because we used to live like paupers?

Thing is, nobody is accepting that if we get relegated it's all ok because in 1974 we had to apply for re-election. people are still hopeful that Martin can turn this around and give us what he promised.
However, some of us have come to the conclusion that Martin can't give us what he promised after intiailly supporting him, some never supported him and were on his case from the start whereas others again still think he can do it.
It is absolutely not ambivalence though. None of us will accept relegation quietly.
I’ve tried to educate people on here and failed. Dr P and I are not lovers and often disagree but you know what,he s not once called me filth names and I double he ll be posting on matters 20 yrs hence .
A terrific contributor.
Liking him is not the point.
He makes one think, unlike many on here who make my soul shrink .

'You. Put. ME right'. You ? Kinell get a grip 'feisty old fella'.
And you always have to lean on others to support your meek cause.
Meek is as Meek does.
You are so out of your depth G.

I do love busting myths as you know.
This recently created one regarding some never supporting him from the start screams out as a myth to me. I’m pretty sure it is actually a myth I predicted would be created once people realise they were wrong about Martin, which then deflects their annoyance from their selves and their manager and right back onto the people who were correct.
Does anyone have any posters who didn’t support him from the start? Happy to do the donkey work and do the digging myself to verify.
But I would say no such poster exists. I’ll stick my neck on the line there.

I supported him from the start - in so many ways.
Concept vs Reality, mk1 : FAIL.
He lost the plot with Piroe early doors. That was the marker. Failing to see and then rejecting our very best player is criminal. It's negligent, it's so telling in so many ways how crap Martin is.
He's SO not right for us proper fans, in so many ways, countless examples of his ongoing ineptitude.

Avoid hypocrisy
He insisted more than once that supporters like me go missing after results like Tuesday. This is the second time I have had to correct him on that point as he was wrong. Do keep up

Excellent post. I live in hope each matchday that today is the day he turns it around. As you correctly stated we are all coming at it from different angles, but none of us is accepting of a poor performance or string of performances because we almost faced annihilation several times in our history.

If you agree maybe you could help him and let us know some posters who didn’t support him from the start.
Again just the username is all that is needed and I’ll take a look.
