To now play in khaki green and purple trim. Return to the council badge has club crest and the only indication of our previous history, the ground to be named Coluseum . Oh, and to win promotion with 100% win home record !
Personally I don't want us to change from Its to City. Am I not right in thinking both Swansea and Chester changed after some sort of financial meltdown? Up the U's

You could be right, Burnsie, although Wikipedia (the fount of all knowledge) doesn't mention financial difficulties, but, no matter. I wouldn't want the U's to change their name either.
Up the U's.

BW, you, I and Gerry are from the same era, and will probably remember Swansea Town becoming Swansea City, and Chester becoming Chester City.
But I can't see the U's becoming Colchester City. We probably can't afford new stationery for one thing.
Up Colchester's football team, whatever it's called.
Are you saying I'm old Knees? Unfortunately I do remember all the changes but we should remain the U's for all time and for the history that name embodies; think Leeds, Huddersfield ,Watney Cup et al......but I must say I do like Camulodunum City😀

Fantastic news! Very pleased for Colchester getting the recognition its history deserves.
By the way, if you have any friends and family wondering about Colchester's history as Britain's First City in light of yesterday's announcement, this talk by Essex based History Indoors may be useful:

Apologies, Gerry, if you felt insulted. I prefer to think of you as mature, like a fine wine.
Up the Colchester Football team!
