Shocking collapse.
Boring first half, Bright start, got ahead with a cracker, then started playing it round like we won. Then they put three players on with energy to push, scored and then an almighty collapse.
The second looked a country mile offside, but we did not look like scoring. Two up front not good with this squad. Much better with one up top with 2 tens behind them.
So bloody annoying. Yes they had something to fight for, but looked nervous and crap before they turned it round and looked much the better team, but they were there for the taking. Why do we always lose to the shite teams... |  |

FT REPORT
Three points thrown away.
This was a Rangers pre-January.
Can understand why Warbs rested Chair and Willock before they came on as subs.
And to be fair Kelman and Thomas did well. They have to get some game time.
The half-time injury to de Wijs made a big difference against a side desperate to grab some points - if not all 3 which they did.
That goal by Dykes to give the R's the lead was a cracker after Dieng passed out to Kakay followed by a brilliant cross.
But Rotherham's two goals inside 3 minutes midwayish through the second half - to bounce back - underlined that sub Kane (for de Wijs) anywhere in the back line is not great. And with Hamaleinen still struggling to match the improved quality of normal left-back presumably rested/injured Wallace - this was really poor overall.
The balance/confidence was just not there.
If you've got to lose to someone - then Rotherham is a good pick.
Hope they survive.
As for us - it's going to be a midtable finish that most of us would have accepted at the start of this odd season. |  | | |

It's never easy playing a team with their backs to the wall. Rotherham needed the win far more than we did, and ultimately played that way. Cameron, Ball, de Wijs, would have been the players we needed to hold our lead, but for one reason or another they weren't there. | | | |

Team showed poor character in 2nd half but to me that loss is down to losing De Wijs and not adapting to it, almost amateurish tbh.
We do bounce back from these performances but management have to be able to get hold of this during the match, very surprising collapse |
on the upside, we are led to understand that a percentage of the player's wages is based on performance and results, so the club is now actually better off then it imagined it would be half an hour ago

Thought before the game, be nice to win, not really bothered if we don't. But then....
Decent 1st half, Dykes finish was super. All is well in the world. Well what a change. What transpired in the following 40 minutes was just absolute bollox. For those who haven't seen it, it was bad, I mean proper bloody bad, everyone playing in a QPR shirt was nothing short of pathetic.
Now I have the raging hump, and want to punch people in the face. it's a funny old game ..

An hour gone in their position and losing 1-0 at home sometimes you gotta give credit to the opposition to come back and win 3-1 is pretty good in my book.

A wake-up call that as things stand we’re too inconsistent and lack squad depth to be able to challenge for top 6 next season. For every Coventry or Sheff Weds home there’s a Forest, Rotherham or Hudds away. Needs addressing if we want to progress from what has still been an outstanding season. |  | | |

Whether through tiredness or because he is not that physical Kakay bottled/pulled out of a 50/50 ball that lead to the breakaway for their 3rd goal.
Once Jordy went off our defence looked a car crash. Whether Kane and Kakay were trying to make each other look bad I don't know, but we could not string 2 passes together on that right hand side coming out of defence.
Dickie and Johansen both seem to have started to get sloppy with passes recently or maybe there is a disconnect with the other players not reading their intentions correctly.
I think with the remaining fixtures we have had our moment in the sun these last couple of months and i would imagine another few losses now as more experiments to starting line ups start giving starts and opportunity to the fringe players to prove themselv |  |

For me 1-0 to us after 50/60 mins was about fair but after that the Rotherham goals weren't lucky and they took their chances so on balance I think Rotherham deserved to win but ultimately it was due to us losing our form rather than them improving, although after their 2nd they were a better team with the confidence it gave them | | | |

Completely accept that Rotherham took their chance and then realised we were a bit 'all show' tonight. We have a terrible record there.
I just don't get why we don't give Albert game minutes. He has tonnes of experience, puts balls onto feet and heads with ease and I just feel his experience is being wasted.
You can experiment with teams but if you have very little experience with an experimental team then what happens tonight happens. |  |

Barbet has had two inexcusable brain farts to cause two goals (just goes to sleep).
But after that the team just fell apart.
Johansen played with the air of a man who didn’t give a toss. His passing was lazy and inaccurate and his tracking back non-existent.
Dickie looked like someone pissed on his cornflakes. He was not tracking his man, not winning battles, getting rolled easily.
Barbet decided to stop marking Ladapo. Only relief was when he went off.
Warburton did the sam trick of take off one of our two central midfielders. Unfortunately it was the one who was doing all the work and can hold his head high. Meant we became wide open again.
Even the subs who came on. Bonne was petty. Chair barely moved to find space and just went to stand on the left touchline. And Willock completely failed to trap simple passes the first two times it went to him. And Kane may has well have not been there. Kakay was playing centre half and wing back. No idea where Kane was.
The attitude was poor, but Warburton’s decisions were odd. If there was a game for Ball to come on for Johansen early in the second half, that was it. We ended up with a back 3 and 1 central midfielder and no one else of defensive duty. No surprise we get done again. By all means give it a go, but it’s Rotherham. We shouldn’t need to throw away all shape and discipline to do it!
In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter, but a winning mentality is important. If you can do the right things well when it doesn’t matter, you’ll do them well when it does matter. |  | | |

You can experiment to see if players are up to it but not prep a team properly and actually harm their confidence. I felt it was a bit naughty tonight. Blamed on 'loading' but seemed very obviously played like a spare game for us and that doesn't build a winning mentality. | |

I think there will be fingers pointed at the replacement players but for me the ones that fell out of the game and weakened us the most were Johansen, Field, Dickie and Barbet.
They control the middle of the park and basically lost it, the rest of the team feed off that area and I find it hard to blame them since we'd got ourselves ahead with them on the pitch. | | | |
