Not sure where you got your figures down but clearly incorrect as total deaths can't decrease.
My figures from UK government web site Deaths per 100,000 since start of pandemic with coronavirus mention on death certificate . They are published weekly.
Wales 171 England 144 Scotland 129 NI 104
Other stats. Deaths within 28 days of positive test 97,939 Deaths with coronavirus on death certificate 95,828 Excess deaths 95,094
The governments preferred means of recoding Covid19 deaths and the one it generally reports on is deaths within 28 days of a positive Covid test.
Based on that measure, the rates are
England 152.7
Wales 143.7

The government publishes three figures. They don't have a preferred figure.
A lot of people survive a lot long than 28 days after testing positive before they die, so the 28 day figures miss those deaths. The other problem with the 28 day figures you may recover and die of another cause not related to coronavirus. The death certificate figures includes those deaths . All three figures have pretty much the same totals.

Think she is too busy pushing for independence and she is trying to remember what she said about Salmond before the enquiry starts.
I think wee Jimmy....Nicola is having a few problems. Up in Scotland they are talking in terms of her being finished if she's found to have lied.
Interesting to see the laimed Wales stats but I've read elsewhere we are not actually doing as well, much better thn before but there's been...allegedly....a wee bit of statistical shenaniganss.
Apparently, and I haven't seen it, the gov.uk website has different figures to what theSenedd claims. Scotlands percentages have dropped but they are still ahead in numbers vaccinated over all and in NI their percentgage is higher than claimed.
Again not seen the evidence it's just waht random people are claiming. Until I see evidence there's nothing to say but well done to the WG for finally pulling it's finger out and getting the rate up, hopefully it will rise further.

I am not disagreeing with your comments about the pos and cons of each means of acluculating the death rate, but the government have a preferred figure which is the death within 28 days figure as was said. When the announcements were first published in the Downing Street briefings last March, they used a different way of calculating the number, I seem to recall they then changed the way of calculating the number which resulted in a lower number being used.
The point I was making is that when you provided your figures, you used the one which painted the worst picture of the Senedd’s performance. I am no lover of Drakers et al, but there is often more than 1 side to a story.

Just I trust doctors who put cause of death as coronavirus on the death certificate rather than a tick that they tested positive 28 days ago.

We left the EU at the end of January 2020 before the pandemic started did you not notice do keep up.
So ....you dont think that all the Brexit related activities have caused a major distraction for a UK government that has failed to protect 100,000 of its most vulnerable citizens from covid. What planet are you on ? Google Kent and lorry park.

Almost 10% of people in Wales have now received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine thanks to the efforts of our brilliant vaccination teams across Wales. pic.twitter.com/ZoNvgZlpz2

It didn't top the EU dealing with Brexit, or American politiians commenting on it....politics covers a lot of ground, they don't ignore one major aspect because something else really important comes up. If they did the place would fall even further apart. Whether or not they do a good job is another thing!
If the UK government has "failed to protect" what about the Senedd and the high Welsh death rate? Or what about the EU and the red tape delays in sorting vaccinations out? Did the EU fail to protect the 425,000 plus of it's citizens who died, or is that Bojo's fault too?
BREAKING: Wales is now leading the UK nations in terms of the rolling rate of *total* vaccinations given a day against #COVID19 per pop.
The huge increase has been down to HUGE efforts by health workers and shows just how much hard work is being done to get us back to normality. pic.twitter.com/2KjVV84oUU

Educate yourself.
Johnson has overseen 100,000 deaths, no ifs and no buts.

Seems people in the EU do not understand the difficulties in mass producing a vaccine or don't even understand the contract they signed. All this for a vaccine they have not even approved yet.

and the rest of the home nations have all had a part to play in that distressing figure , wouldn't you agree ?
It’s a terrible figure, all 4 parliaments have a part to play as do the people and organisations ignoring the legislation, but the Westminster Government and ultimately Boris are in charge. They control the finances, Border control etc etc. The current U.K. mortality rate is 152 per 100,000, the US is currently 130 per 100,000 and Trump has taken a hammering in the press over his response. If we had a population of 328,000,000 like the States with our current death rated we’d be just shy of 500,000 deaths, 75k more than our American cousins.
Gibraltar, San Marino, Belgium, Slovenia and the UK are the 5 worst countries in terms of deaths per capita.
