Too many people say they have flu when it's a bad cold. Real flu is different, I have only ever had it once and like you said, I literally couldn't get out of bed and had to crawl to the bathroom. My joints ached like mad and I had a fever, dizziness and was confined to bed for a few days.
I got the "Millenium" flu bug late Dec 99, Jan 2000. Is genuinely the worse I have ever felt. Was in bed from Boxing Day until about the 2nd Jan. Couldn't even move to the window to watch the fireworks and see in the new millennium. Also took another month to stop coughing up gunk
Ive had malaria twice and Typhiod fever, which weren't great but I would take all three of those episodes at the same time rather than go through that level of flu again

The NBA are taking the handshakes away also - even more of a farce considering how basketball players spend the entire game wearing vests and shouldercharging each other all over the place.

I'd argue it's more about setting the trend for the rest of us in public rather than anything else. Hardly a farce IMO.
BTW, here in Czech Republic, since midnight Friday - anyone coming back from Italy must go into 2 weeks isolation on pain of a £100,000 penalty for those not complying - yikes!!

Apparently she doesn't feel that ill and only isolated and had the test because she'd been in Italy. You'll be glad to know I haven't attended a 'dale game since Coventry (and I am on a different floor to those being tested!).

You also should be clear by the time the next Dale game comes around, even if you have it and have to self-isolate. Hopefully you are also of an age where you are much less at risk even if you do. I'd be surprised if there are no Daleys infected by the time it has all unravelled.

Yeah i'll be fine but it's obviously a concern for those who are vulnerable or have elderly parents they visit or live with. I don't think anyone else will have caught it from her because she isolated quickly and tbf to her she didn't return from Northern Italy so wasn't ignoring the rather patchy advice handed out. Things must be really bad in Italy so I can understand them locking things down.

Yep, it's dire over there. Speaking to my boss and the CEO via Skype today and you need special permission to travel in lots of the North now and quarrantine measures extended to whole of the country with nearly 500 deaths. Everyone at our HQ working from home. We've got people all over the globe and we've all been told to work from home and do everything remotely. I heard Mars has stopped all travel too. It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better. But I did manage to get a 9 pack of bog roll today. I did need it though and opted not to buy a 24 pack.

I sort of get the argument you're making EG, but isn't it a bit inconsistent to "set the trend" in not shaking hands, after spending the previous hour playing a sport with loads of physical contact? I think economics are driving their decision making rather than setting any trends!
Just been stung by an airline because of the Coronavirus. My daughter and her boyfriend are meeting me in Sardinia For Easter and have to take a connecting flight. It cost about 550 GBP. Just 1 of the 4 sections has been cancelled and the options are
1. Get a refund on that 1 leg of just 70 GBP and then the whole trip will be cancelled and you lose the other 480GBP
2. Rebook an earlier flight for 110 GBP. However if that is subsequently cancelled then you will have to pay another increased fare for another change, or only get another 15% of your total fare back.
On the latter I had assumed they had to reschedule you without charge if they cancel a flight
Just as an update
My own flight was with Ryanair who today have cancelled 1 of the 4 flights. However instead of only refunding that flight or offering an alternative flight, they have offered a full refund on all 4 flights including the 3 not yet cancelled. Well done RyanAir and shame on the others ripping people off

I meet with several clients per day, all in different locations/businesses - so none of them has the same 'company' policy, and I feel the publicity around, for example, not shaking hands etc. that these campaigns are promoting definitely have impacted peoples awareness in social distancing when it comes to greeting.

I've been living in Prague since September but moving back to England mid April (partner is working temporarily in Prague).
Interesting news today apparently as the Nottingham Forest owner has announced that he has Coronavirus. This after he was seen at their game last Friday shaking hands with all and sundry......
