Hendowatch 16:00 - Feb 3 with 38195 views | AtThePeake | I keep forgetting how far Hendo is from the record(s) and after DDB posted them in another thread I thought I'd start this one to keep on top of how far away he is. All-Time League Record: 119 Current Hendo Tally: 112 All-Time Overall Record: 129 Current Hendo Tally: 127

Hendowatch on 20:32 - Mar 8 by TVOS1907 | Henderson also needs just three more appearances to pass Graham Smith's 345 for the club, which will put him into second place behind Gary Jones. |
How much longer in Hendos legs? he looks fit as a fiddle! 2 more seasons?? 400plus appearances and the clubs record goal scorer. #Hendolegend

To be precise, it looks like Conversion rate of shots on target, Conversion rate of shots

Expressed mathematically, more or less, he scores either once every 4 shots overall, or once every other shot he gets on target. You expressed it very well linguistically.

Hendowatch on 22:10 - Mar 12 with 4175 views | D_Alien | Here's a brain teaser: Is it possible to deduce from those two charts what percentage of Hendo's shots are on target? If so, what's the percentage? And if not, why not?

I would have said yes if they covered the same matches. They probably don't. One states this season, the other doesn't mention a time period. If you are talking about the same number of goals in the same number of matches (i.e. this season's tally), it should just be a case of TVOS writing a couple of quadratic equations and solving them for x. Or summat?

Let's assume, for the hell of it, that both sets of stats involve the same time period (rather than matches, to avoid confusion with the different bases, i.e. all four divisions/League 1) I'll admit, i'm not 100% sure but my instinct tells there might be a confounding factor [Post edited 12 Mar 2020 22:26]

Using round numbers, if he's scored 10 goals this season, he's had 40 shots (wayward or otherwise). If he's scored from 50% of shots on target rate, 10 of those must have been goals and 10 misses surely. Therefore his season would be 40 shots, 20 on target, 10 of which were goals? I feel like I've been on an episode of Ask the Family now!

Excellent logic, and simplified in a readily understandable way Well, I've been scratching my head. Supposing Hendo hits a shot on target, the ball goes into the net but it's disallowed because a teammate is in an offside position and considered to be interfering with play?

Only precedent was the 1939-40 season and I think all stats were all declared void then...but it was only 3 games into the season. The Grobbelar curse may not be over after all.
