Wow, thought we were going to win by 5 today. Instead we sat back, Calvin flicked on to thin air, and we rode our luck . Gateshead deserved a replay. Ref was awful
The hilite on the beeb. Dreadful keeping. Thought the ref was out of his depth and confused Dale with some of his decisions. Harrison gets a yellow for a shoulder charge but their striker gets nowt for a very late challenge.

Technically only scored once today, not acceptable & dire performance..
On paper 80% out best team & Moore dropped another clanger with a poor pass out was very lucky they shot it at him..
Bring back Lilllis...
Technically scored once?? Hmmm... If the defender hadn't played the ball (albeit into his own goal), then our lads behind him certainly would have. Technically or not, a goal is a goal. It's uncanny how frequently a guy that has scored an own goal then gets one at the right end though! I think we just edged the game on our first half performance, at times the two league difference was very visible as Gateshead really couldn't handle our movement and quality. Yes, we didn't play well second half and Gateshead were the better side but we gritted it out and that's a big positive. So, not a dire performance, but a gritty and, more importantly, a winning one.

One for the Perkin haters. He came on and acted like a captain. Shouting instructions, getting stuck in and attempting to motivate those seeking winter hibernation.

Not sure anyone hates Perkins , many just think he isn’t the player he was.
The keeping situation is causing consternation? Good. Might help the manager realise that he’s partly to blame because we now have our best keeper on the bench, an on-loan player who is third choice and the current no.1 making regular mistakes. Hope none of the crowd said anything about players pulling out of challenges too...
That will do the lads confidence the world of good and Inman will be skipping through hoops after that assessment, the guy talks in riddles " there's no question about that" he's so fast to jump on any voice of slight disapproval from the crowd yet he's perfectly fine to publicly call 2 players,logical....

The goalkeeping issue is totally Hill's making. Lillis has consistently been outstanding for us. I like Moore but his form has been poor and he was full of mistakes today. Norman is worse. He'll play Norman at Shrewsbury. When Lillis finally returns, if he makes mistakes then Hill should own then.
That second half was shite. Over the 90 Gateshead deserved at least a replay. Referee was horrendous too. I'm usually calm about refs now, but FOUR times in the first half their players hoofed the ball away either well after the whistle or when it'd clearly gone out of play. Not a yellow card anywhere to be seen. I feel bad for the poor sods who have to deal with that referee normally.

I would suggest that his best performance of this season came as a substitute against national league opposition. Actually, I know it was.
I know that's what you thought, or were implying
I think his level is beyond the reach of Perkins-haters. I'm not implying that includes you; you may just think he's no longer good enough for L1 - but you certainly don't know that. Or do you?

Yes he shoutd orders then stands in space marking nobody and when he gets the ball he gives it to the opposition

Of the times you've seen him play this season then, what would you estimate his pass success ratio was, i.e. the number of times he makes rapid passes to Dale feet against passes to the opposition

I'll give you a few options to choose from:
1:1 2:1 5:1 10:1 >10:1
Which would you say was closest?
Absolutely no idea
