Sterling to start and score today.

England starting eleven. on 13:47 - Jul 7 with 2498 views | krafty80 | Surprised to see people thinking Jordan Henderson shouldn’t be in the side. He’s been really impressive this World Cup, much like Marouane Fellaini has been for Belgium. When Henderson plays well England play well.

Well you're correct on the first part let's hope the second part comes to fruition, although in this world cup so far he would have had more success hitting a cows arse with a banjo......

England starting eleven. on 14:15 - Jul 7 with 2450 views | JimmyRustler | Sterling is a proper scapegoat so far. I thought Alli had a poorer game than him and didn't receive anything like the kind of negativity he did. Same team starts for me | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Agree about Alli he's been poor first half but good god if there's a wrong choice to make then Sterling will make it. Hope he proves me wrong second half and I'll be first to hold my hands up if he does.....

Speaking of choices, kudos to him for staying on his feet after he rounded the keeper - he could have easily gone down after the contact. Wonder what Neymar would have done.

Yeah I'm planning to. Though we've not won a game I've attended in ten years so no wonder the town fans at work want to drag me along

England starting eleven. on 18:51 - Jul 7 with 2068 views | deeplishblue | Re. Sterling. He has not had the best time of it but he is performing a roll that no one else is doing. Turning with the ball and running at the defence which is probably the hardest job to do. He is occupying the defence and causing concern. I bet russia/Croatia prefer him not to play. Spot on. As frustrating as he is, he’s absolutely vital to this team. His movement and his work rate is fantastic. He occupies the entire defence. He must be a nightmare to play against. Nobody in the squad does what he does. Rashford is good but he doesn’t have that intensity. If you watch, the high press starts with Sterling and Lingard et al surround like a pack of wolves.

England starting eleven. on 01:03 - Jul 8 with 1818 views | DiddyDave | I thought Lingard was very poor today apart from the cross for the second goal,he`s another who seems to drift in and out of games. Anyway England were well worth their win,Pickford saving the side a couple of times, but that`s his job. I can see similarities here with the 1966 side, the more games they play, the better they`re getting. I`m sure most of us would`ve taken getting to the semis before it all kicked off,no reason why England can`t go further now..
