A win is always good but watching us is like watching paint dry at the moment. 17:11 - Oct 14 with 13458 viewsskacrazy

Would love to see some edge of the seat football but with the squad we have I can't see it getting any better. Every game seems to be a real struggle for both the players and fans.

Psycho killer put in an error laden performance but he was everywhere and has a mentality that puts the blade into the opposition and on balance kept us moving and put un some quality forward passes. If he can get his head up he is a world beater.

"The Swansea Way" began in 2007 when Roberto Martinez invented passing football.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

As others have said, the result was the big thing yesterday and may help us regain belief. However, I don't really agree with the view that the confidence flowed in the second half. My sense was that we took our foot off the gas an sat back too much with about 25 minutes to go. Huddersfield got some traction down the wings and came very close with the deflected shot that clipped the bar. A confident Swans would have pushed on and got a third against a poor team. Still a very good outcome mind, and signs that things are improving.

Downarrowed by mistake. Spot on summary.

The Swansea Way died when cocknose emailed Laudrup his P45 and appointed Garry Fûcking Monk.

Some of us said as much at the time...

The Swansea Way is mostly a myth ffs, kept alive either by kids who’ve only ever known success or dewy eyed old bastards who still think it’s 1960.

Don't you mean the Swansea Way that dropped the Swans from Division 1 down to Division 4?
The majority of the Clubs in the UK Football Leagues play "passing, ball retention football" and a few play clog it up the field football. Quite a few mix it up as required.
I have enjoyed watching some league 2 games and league versus non league Cup games just as much as Prem games.

For exciting football, Man City yesterday is hard to beat, but then their top player is worth more than our whole team, so they should be.

So how many games did that wonderful effective 50s style win us in the top flight and how many trophies did it win us?

Just wondering. lol

It’s the style of football you choose to use, it doesn’t depend on success. Arsenal are the biggest example of this. They stick to their principles and that’s that.

Under Martinez, Rodgers and Laudrup, we played a certain way and signed players which suited that. What Warwick is saying is correct.

How you play is generally down to the quality of the players you have, not the desired style. Give anybody DeGuz, Britton, Michu, Pablo, and Dyer and Routledge at the top of their game with Chico and Williams carrying the ball out and Rangel and Davies bombing forward and that team will play football. Add in an attacking strategy from the manager and even more so.

Martinez was also lucky that he had the golden triangle of Britton, Pratley and Bodde, and a workaday striker from Scotland, called Scotland that surpassed all expectations in knowing where the net was. Plus Robbo at the top of his game and Ando’s pace in his only really impressive season. Without those players, he could have wanted to play all the football in the world and he would have failed. Like Derby.

It is Jenkins and the recruiting team that have let us down. And I’m chucking Monk in because he couldn’t wait to get our best players out the door so he could introduce his meat and two veg English style on us, as preached by the FA Allardyce and Hodgson ‘school of excellence’ mob.

If you want good football, buy good footballers, play them, and let them off the leash.

Guzman, Dyer, Routledge and Pablo are all small players which outstanding passing skills. They suck in most others systems. It only work for them in Premier League if they defend by having the ball.

Have to say the style you can play, depend of the qualities of your players - not the other way around.

It is like saying Liverpools fast offensive offense can be played with every kind of player.

boring ??

today's set-up, performance and result were uplifting - not boring

boring? - totally, utterly disagree - were u not intrigued by the dynamics of how the game unfolded?

those that were bored are either plastics or have absolutely no appreciation of the game

Just stfu mate. You keep digging and it just keeps getting deeper. From the tenor of your posts you're obviously under 16.

If you can't see that had we played a half-way tidy team yesterday, we'd have struggled to get 1 point,
That's not to blame the team or the manager, our squad is just piss-poor.
It is what it is, but don't try to paper over the cracks because a weaker team on the day gifted us a win.

Said it before many times. Martinez did a good job here, but he inherited probably the best setup that any Swansea manager had in decades. He still had to stick the landing, but most of the tools he needed were already in place.
