Not many people know this, but George Best was actually born in the Sandfields. About 100 yards away from the Vetch. Both his parents were of Irish descent so he was whisked off on the Cork ferry and the birth was registered in Ireland. Apparently, he didn't find this out until late on in his football career, and as he always wanted to play for Wales, it led to serious problems in his personal life.

Next door to the Maradonas in Fleet Street - used to keep everyone awake doing the tango at all hours.
Loved a Wilfie's pie too. We used to call his dad El Loco - I think he was a train driver.

Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves sold their soul to the Sais ... so here's a song 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎼
Benjamin Woodburn is a taff is a taff is a taff Benjamin Woodburn is a taff he hates England..... repeat
I'll get my coat 😂
What a lovely little ditty you have there. However, I do object to the word Taff to represent Welsh people. Taff comes from the river Taff, which only represents those living in the Taff Valley area, and as we all know, it spills its guts in Cardiff!
The senior players need to take a lot more responsibility and composure. We seem to have lost a little bit if camaraderie which was the difference between qualifying and not qualifying last time out.
Each time I go to Bedd - au........................

Real Madrid News: Gareth Bale wants club to beat Barcelona to Liverpool striker
GARETH BALE has reportedly told Real Madrid’s board they must do all they can to sign Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn.
Real Madrid are set to splash the cash this summer with Zinedine Zidane hopeful of landing a marquee signing.
And while Kylian Mbappe is said to be at the top of his wishlist, Bale wants the board to make a move for a less familiar name.
Spanish publication Don Balon claim Bale has warned Madrid’s board they can’t miss out on fellow Welshman Woodburn with Barcelona also said to be considering making a move for him.
They claim Barca have already started to put the wheels in motion to try and convince the 17-year-old away from Anfield and Bale doesn’t want his club to miss out.
Woodburn has already been tipped for a bright future having impressed on Merseyside.
Jurgen Klopp has handed him nine appearances this season that saw him score his first goal in their 2-0 EFL Cup win over Leeds back in November.
In doing so he became the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool’s history.
Earlier this month Woodburn won Liverpool's Academy Players' Player of the Season award.
Ben Woodburn won Liverpool's Academy Players' Player of the Season award Earlier this year the striker also received his first call-up to the Wales national team by coach Chris Coleman although he is yet to win his first senior cap.
Bale is a huge fan of the teenager and is now hoping Madrid listen to his advice to ensure the Bernabeu outfit don’t miss out on his signature.
Earlier this month Woodburn won Liverpool's Academy Players' Player of the Season award.
Woodburn is currently under contract with Liverpool until 2019.
Mbappe has signed for PSG for 162 mill hasn't he, he's there on loan at least anyway.
I can always remember reading Michael Owen was born in Hawarden. Not sure if that's England or Wales. It seemed to change to Oswestry as his career progressed.

A very special goal though, the boy has a presence about him way beyond his years, with the correct coaching and guidance, mainly to keep his feet on the ground, he could be massive.

This lad is going to be a real talent, we are fortunate he let his heart rule his head and made the right decision to play for us! Jurgen Klopp was advising him to go with England...
You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Great to see real striker talent for wales after a few years of scraping the bucket (which admittedly followed a prolonged period of real quality in that position)

How come he played for Norn Iron then and not the Republic? Did his family have to do a runner to the North?
