The biggest troll 17:28 - Mar 15 with 7953 views | bazingadale | I'm constantly being called a troll on here for no reason. Maybe you should start looking at hill, dunphy and the board for being the trolls. Giving us that hope of going up and we may get in the playoffs before realising we can't afford to go up and we start the usual collapse. Trolled on a yearly basis

Well, we wouldn't have to worry about how to sustain a tilt at promotion into the Championship, how to spend the money from the recent cup runs and player sales, what to do with the stadium we now own or how to build on the mini-success of the half STs. Personally, I think they're good problems to have though.

There are many many things worse than using 'swearwords' - they exist for a reason, to express a particular type of feeling or attitude, exemplified by Shun in his OP about Saturday. That was clearly genuine and heartfelt, and said what many of us are thinking and feeling Comparing to trolls the very people who've given the club their best days ever - with more to come - is one of those many things. How can there be anything remotely genuine about that? Your so-called 'honesty' is absolutely worthless in this context

Because any other manager who went through this run would be having questions raised about their position. Hill shouldn't be untouchable

Hill's decisions are being called into question by fans based on what has happened. There's a difference between this and wanting a manager sacked and posting it regularly.

Unsurprisingly , I disagree There is a subset of fans (assuming that word can be applied) who seem to think the club should bust itself by going hell-bent for promotion, against teams with income streams x4/5 our levels, and can't accept it with due grace when shit happens such as injuries disrupting what was promising to be a push for the holy grail They're the same types who get on players backs, and cat-call the manager during games If you think their views aren't worth challenging, then say so, rather than stale crap about fish & nets. But don't insult those of us who do [Post edited 16 Mar 2017 20:31]

The types in the main stand who call players and moan about the manager are old and don't look like they know what a fans forum is!

If you had said "Because any other club whose manager who went through this run would be having questions raised about their position." Then you would not be far off the mark Fortunately, we are not any other club.

Admittedly he does make mistakes. And he does show favouritism to certain players who are obviously not up to the job. But lookaround every manager is the same! What sometimes annoys me is that the general populous go along with it, like Calvin Andrew is a brilliant player and our back 3 centre halves are brilliant etc. But then again they are entitled to their opinions . I agree about the negativity from the board, I think they are afraid of any further success. You do however bring this wrath on yourself, remember the keyboard warriors on thsi site do love to gang up and have a go at any dissenting voices. We need to club together at the moment and hope we can start pulling some points in to stop the rot. maybe next year we will recruit well and kick on.
The biggest troll on 13:16 - Mar 17 with 1264 views | rod_leach | Thing is PG, when we call Calvin a brilliant player, we all know he isn't premier league standard, and that there are better players in this division, skill wise. However, most of us are filtering this through the knowledge that he is also not on the same money, in some cases, by a long way, as these better lauded players. He demonstrates a lot of what Hill has brought to the place. When he arrived we looked at his record and wondered what he would bring. Since then he's only improved and has surprised many of us with his passion, energy, heart and goals. We know, as well, that the board runs the club to a budget and they cut our cloth accordingly and we are happy with that. We also know that the majority of us are happy not throwing daft money at players in an attempt to improve beyond what we can afford. If that means the team's results fade when we get a few key injuries, then we can live with it. It's disappointing when it happens but we've lived through our club nearly disappearing a few times over the years, and lived through truly rubbish football. Give me what we've got now any time. Decent, sustainable and with a hope that we'll continue to at least compete at a level we haven't for most of my 52 years. I grew up with the club being the butt of many jokes for many years and I still can't believe what Hilly has done for us

My issue with this season is it think league one is much weaker than past years, some may beg to differ. It just infuriates me this has become a thing under Hill in league one, unable to take that next step. A season of promise is just fading away game by game. I'm not saying we should be reckless with monew but I think a risk or two in January on signings would've given us the depth required to cope with injuries rather than loaning players who are not going to bring anything to the team. Redshaw and taylor being prime examples. I just think telling the fans to manage expectations and saying we are over achieving is going to hamper the unreal progress we've made.

While I don't agree with some of what you say, you will get more respect and less criticism if you post considered views like these rather than the sort you usually come out with.

As TVOS said I'm sure many of us share your frustrations and I've posted similar thoughts in the past, though tbf Hill has recently put the expectations/overachieving further into the background The question is, will you have time to overwrite your Hill Out banner with Hill Should've Signed Better Players In January ? That's tic btw, just to prevent any misinterpretation

Over 46 games generally you are either good enough to get promoted or you are not. There's no faking it or accident's over that amount of games. When or if it happens for us then it will probably be one of the greatest achievements in football - when it happened in league 2 we didn't overspend or over budget - it just happened whether it be luck or judgement Hill found Dawson and O'Grady or Hogan,Henderson and Vincenti. He's always said the plan was to establish Rochdale as a good league 1 club - next season will be our 4th consecutive so he's well on the way to doing that. We'd all love promotion to the Championship - Hill and Dunphy too - but it will be done on their terms without putting the future of the club at risk. The obvious danger is Hill being here that long for it to happen. This is his club though and he won't ever experience elsewhere what he has with us - it's more than just a managers/coaching job - it's family.
