I don't think I can remember our home form ever being as good as it is at the moment. With 8 consecutive home league wins, does anybody know what our record for consecutive home victories is?

16, from 18/12/26 to 8/10/27

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Thanks for that TVOS. Some way to go to beat that record then! Just looking at the dates and trying to find the stat myself - that record run started with Dale's record victory I think - almost 90 years to the day by my reckoning.

TVOS is obviously the man with the correct answer, but as a stab in the dark i'd go for the start of the 85/86 season.

If my ageing memory serves me right, I think we were top of the league after 3 games, Fred Ratcliffe passed away, we played United and avoided re-election at Peterboro last game of the season #Eventful

Having said that, this probably happened over 3 different seasons and my memory is playing tricks on me.

I'd guess than answer is that run in 1926 to 1927.

Home games at the start of 85/86...

Aldershot 2-0
Stockport 4-1
Peterborough 2-1
Northampton 3-2
Crewe 1-0
Preston 1-1

I'm impressed that I'm only 3 out!

Although now my record may be called in to question :-)
