Clothes maketh the the man?

Sleeves need shortening, wrong fabric for skinny jeans, Jacket too small in the chest. And he would be better off going to specsavers to view the finished look.
Just an opinion of a professional, and it's a habit I can't shift...picking on bad menswear.
But we could do worst than have him sort our squad out if he's a mind to. And if he does, will Colin be his number two?

Aye he's just the wrong shape for 'fashun' no matter how much weight he loses. Looks 20 years older than when he had a chubby chops,a gut, and his own teeth too.

Nevertheless I'd have him back in a flash

Just hire Gok Wan as part of the backroom staff and we're sorted .

Yes, we are probably a bigger draw than Ajax at the moment, not because we are a bigger club, we probably never will be, simply because of the league we are in.

Any ambitious manager outside the very elite would be tempted by near enough any PL job at the moment. The money is likely to be huge, both in terms of salary and budget and it is the best shop window in world football.

Look at Benitez going to Newcastle, even though they are in the midst of a relegation scrap and he could have had his pick of clubs on the continent.

Benitez came in March and if Newcastle go down will probably leave in May.
Won't be his fault, same as if we went down it wouldn't be Guidolin's fault.
However, if the Geordies stay up then Benitez has worked miracles, etc, etc.
If we stay up, it will be less obvious who gets the credit, plus unless we have an inkling that Guidolin can get us playing more attractive football, many fans will still need to be convinced.
I dare say De Boer would love a crack over here, I just don't see us as being the club he'd come to unless we offer him a massive war chest and a free reign.
Can't see that happening

Taking a club down will be a stain on Benitez' reputation. Yes, he will be able to say it wasn't his felt, but he wouldn't have taken the risk if he wasn't desperate for a PL job next season. Keep them up and this guarantees him one.

I'm not saying DeBoer would want to come here, just rumours like this shouldn't be dismissed as we are a bigger draw than some massive clubs like Ajax at the moment.

Personally, I'd rather see what happens in our remaining seven games before writing Guidollin off.

Great teeth, snazzy dresser....what's not to like

Couldn't be happier if he comes back. He knows the club, city and is respected by the board. We had a pay out when he left for Liverpool, and never felt like he ripped us, unlike other managers who left.

Couldn't see Laudrup happening but it did.

If we get Brendan back, I'll be very happy. But I think we should go for as Frank de Boer type manager, not because I think he'll do a better job. In fact it'll be riskier, but I don't think going back is ever as good idea.

It's not so much I don't think Brendan did a good job, he clearly did.

I think the quality of managers in the PL next season is likely to increase substantially. I honestly think we could be setting our sights a bit higher, much like they allegedly did with the likes of Bielsa and Sampoali a few months ago. We are a much more attractive proposition now we are out of immediate danger, managers that weren't interested then may just have had a change of heart.

Behind every good man is a great woman Mon.

I've was told by a Savile row cutter that 45% of men are colour blind.
But being the only girl apprentice in the company , the tailors and cutters would always pick me to wind up.

I have always said never go back with regards to Football Managers, but in this case i think we would be stupid not too.

Brendan is a young manager who still wants too and has time to succeed, throw in the fact that he knows the area well and a percentage of the players and i think a lot of boxes will be ticked.

Im sure his little experience at Liverpool would have broadened his mindset a bit more but he knows what is required to manager Swansea City. He would have expanded his knowledge of players and seen more players on his European travels with Liverpool , also as normal at Liverpool there would have been players who have gone there with big fees and reputations who have not hit it off and will now be available for quite a bit less, a team like Swansea would be perfect to put their hands around them and re-ignite their careers.

May be my favourite ever post on the subject of Brendan :-)

We need a regular clothing update from swanseajill. Looking forward by the way to the comments on Pascoe's usual shorts and sweatshirt combo if he did come back with Brendan !!

I know there's always the exception (such as Ranieri at Leicester - no doubt there are people who are students of Italian football who can point out other example) but my impression over many years of watching Italian national and club sides has been "defence first and foremost, attack if it is safe to do so"
Generally I have found it boring to watch and IMO Guidolin would offer us more of the same.
I know he's only been with us a few weeks and been ill on top of that, but nothing about the way we are setting our stall screams "entertainment" at the moment.
Of course the job that he and Curtis have to do at the moment is get us safe and they are doing quite well in that respect.
Beyond achieving that though, I feel a new management team and style wil be needed.
As I've said before, Brendan will do for me

"Of course the job that he and Curtis have to do at the moment is get us safe and they are doing quite well in that respect. "

17 pts in 10 games is more than just quite well in my book.

Quite well is very apt.
Since Monk went, either Curtis singlehandedly or with Guidolin has overseen the less than inspiring games against Palace (home and away), Oxford, Sunderland, West Brom, Bournemouth and even the two underwhelming wins against Norwich and Villa.
My hats off to them if they keep us up (as I think they will), but we need more to take us forward and avoid more of the same next season IMO.

I find this view amazing but popular.
We were heading South at the speed of knots. Curt was visibly struggling and ageing by the minute.
Since FG has arrived, along with his team, we have moved into a place of comparative safety. He has forged an excellent relationship with Curt who now seems completely revitalised. Guidolin openly admitted from the start that the team could not be changed dramalically and so the safety first approach contines until safety is fully achieved.
Against this background some are prepared to see the back of this experienced manager for one who has been sacked from 50% of his appointments, has very dodgy record in the transfer market, and who now appears so far up his own a$$ there is no turning back. They would prefer to see BR take the reigns whist our current manager is one of the favourites to take of the Italian manager's job......because he is not good enough for us!!
Don't get me wrong. Despite the evidence to the contrary, FG could turn out to be the streotyoical Italian and the footy will be defensive and boring. I would suggest that would be a small price to pay for another year of safety in the Prem. We can look elsewhere if that proves to be the case in the following close season.

I think Guidolin has to be given a proper chance....assuming he wants it. Unless, we think we can do significantly better, and I don't see Rodgers in that bracket myself.

I agree that FG may not want he job if the Italian one is being offered to him. The fact he has brought his team in would suggest he may be in for the long haul however.
It could also be his health is not up to it. Only he knows that and his current mindset seem to be he can carry on.
I also think we should be looking for better than Rodgers if indeed we are not going to move forward with Guidolin for whatever reason.
