If that happened against us (and it probably will the next time we play Fulham) I would expect one of our players to take the Red card and launch the player into Row Z at the next possible opportunity.
How about a penalty shoot out ? Is that a different kind of penalty ? Should we have penalty A and Penalty B ?
In reality a penalty shoot out is misnamed. They really are not penalties just a direct shot at goal to decide a result after the regulation game has finished. The requirement for a direct shot at goal is the relevant fact.

This does not make sense
a team-mate of the player taking the kick infringes the Laws of the Game: the referee allows the kick to be taken if the ball enters the goal, the kick is retaken if the ball does not enter the goal, the referee stops play and the match is restarted with an indirect free kick to the defending team from the place where the infringement occurred
Am I reading it wrong but it seems to say that if you miss, the infringement by your side is punished whereas if you score, while not given the goal, you can try again
It wasn't legal, Suarez was in the box when Messi took it. Very poor reffing.
This. He plants his foot inside the 'D' on his run up just before Messi takes the penalty. But it was very close and pretty much impossible for the linesman to spot.
