A proogee of David Bardsley (how many of you have been asking for that to happen) & how much would we have spent if it doesn't work out?
I assume those of you that are critical of this signing would of been saying the same when we signed Les or if a Palace fan when they signed the step father of SWP.
Every signing is a gamble. Do you think Carroll would have given a better return on what West Ham paid for him than we might get from Tyler?
My memory tells me of a Tyler (surname) that I think Spam signed from Hereford who was the star of the show. Perhaps Blackwood will be out star.

its a one year contract too.
He's been on trial for ages and they've seen at least something to suggest he could play at least a bit part this season, it's a prudent signing if you ask me
at the very least he'll be better than Troy Hewitt

How shite were Mark Hateley or Mike Sheron for Rangers? They did not come from obscurity. Any judgement should be made when Tyler's contract is due for renewal. Not before!
If the club were saying that he would be an automatic first team choice or that he would be a twenty goal a season man immediately, then that judgement could be queried. However, they have said that he may be good for us in the future.
I will take that any day!

Lets face it, there isn't even the tiniest bit of risk here. Given his previous background, he will have cost us nothing and there are probably people who post on here who will earn more than him next year. He has obviously impressed those people he has spent the last 4 months trying to impress and if he does nothing, we have lost nothing. And we all support a club who has seen the likes of Modibo Maiga, Will Keane and that Italian from Utd up front in the last couple of years. He cant physically be worse than any of them.

Now there's a point Will offside Keane came in from United with a good pedigree and to be honest looked clueless...... . To his credit his hold up play was OK but for a player from United I expected so much more.
Preston have just signed Keane on a season long loan, maybe he will get better but a good pedigree is never a guarantee.....

I always feel Sheron gets a more raw deal than he deserves. His record of 20 goals in 69 games isn't bad. I think we would grab a "goal every 3 games or so" striker with both hands now.

Your probably right there dodge.
My point was that coming with a reputatuion etc. is no guarentee of being a success.
As is normal in life , the higher the level of expectancy, the more likelihood of feeling disappointed.
The signing of Sheron was meant to be rewarded with promotion!
