ISIS behead 21 Christians. on 10:22 - Feb 19 by trampie | Sh*g it was the Welsh and the other Celts that saved this country from going to war on the same side as the Islamic State, the English were all for it. Nobody reported the fact although the information was out there how mps voted, virtually every mp representing Celtics areas no matter what party voted against war the majority of mps representing English constituencies voted for war which would have put us on the same side as IS and the rest of them groups. Although the vast majority of mps represent English areas, the Celts were close to 100% against war and managed to carry the day. Make no mistake an independent Wales and or Scotland just like Ireland would not always vote the same way as the English, a UN vote on Palestinian statehood im sure could well highlight that. We could see Wales with the other Celtic nations and the rest of the World taking a different view to England and America (and Israel) and possibly one or two of the other Anglo Saxon nations if Wales was an independent sovereign state. |
Then, shortly after that, Glamorgan could secede from your new nation as it contains virtually none of these Celts you mention and next to nothing in common with north Wales.

Glamorgan would be at the very heart of a sovereign Wales.

Yes indeed, largely at the bidding of The Labour Party. One of those Brit Nat organisations that appear to haunt your waking hours. And that was a call for subsidiarity, not seperation. Whether you like it or not there are very, very few residents of Glamorgan who conform to the classic delineations of Welsh nationalism and you wishing it so isn't going to make it otherwise. An independence referendum would be met with incredulity by almost everybody.

I thought Labour, Lib-Dems and Plaid as well as the trade unions and church groups all supported Welsh devolution and so did the people, very strongly in Glamorgan as it turned out as well.

They supported a call for greater subsidiarity not soverign independence, which is what you are calling for.

Too right they called for greater powers for Wales, Welsh people having more say over Welsh matters. I'm not calling for independence at this stage, baby steps is the way forward, the union is starting to creek and at this rate the UK will break up within decades and not centuries.
