For something a bit different, Prokofiev's 3rd piano concerto. Dazzling playing, great pace and mood swings, and all over in about 25 minutes so you don't feel you have to spend your life getting into it. I have this version.
I have derived a great deal of enjoyment from "The Graceless Age" by John Murry. Often simple sound - guitar singer songwriter - and v interesting background story to the artist (I'll say no more), the songs are the really powerful thing here. Absolutely cracking (occasionally) rock n roll album. Get on board.

I parted company with Belle and Sebastian at the end of the 90s when I got interested in Latin music. Not sure if it was them or me. In my opinion, their 1998 EP 'This Is Just a Modern Rock Song' has really stood the test of time. I will post something from it on Friday's music thread.
