Garry offered two year contract on 10:05 - May 5 by swancity | Indeed. So it's a good job that his skills extend far beyond that. |
From inside the camp ... Motivator for sure, "I think the players will be happy to see him get the job," said Wales international Davies. "He's a really good motivator," said Davies. "All the players are working 100% for him and it's showing on the field." but the tactics comment is interesting too. "His tactics are very good and it's difficult for someone to come in and do as well as he's done. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27271846

This we can agree on. If Tiendalli had played as badly as Ben this season he'd have been chased out of Swansea. We'd all like a manager who backed is no matter how inconsistently bad we'd been. This second striker talk is a load of rubbish. We need to spend our budget on two full backs, a centre half and a goalie. Either that or some serious work needs to be done on the defence.

Cobblers. Davies hasn't reached the standards set last season but he hasn't been too bad either. Had a couple of poor games but he has had a 6 out of 10 season.

Unusually Neddy's not far off there. Davies at his worst has been better than anything Tiendalli has served up this season. Far from his best for sure, but not as awful as some seem to think. We have two decent, potentially very good left backs. Not an area of concern for me.

He was OK for the first half of the season, pretty woeful for most of the second. Not a long term concern I agree, as his talent is obvious. Seems fairly obvious he's been overplayed. ARQS is right though - if Tiendalli had played like Ben has lately there'd have been a lynch mob after him. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I agree. The problem is that Neil Taylor wants out and I can't say I blame him. He should have had lots more games especially since Christmas which would have helped an overplayed Ben as well.

If Tiendalli had played like Ben has people would be wondering who the hell he is and what has he done with Tiendalli.

Garry offered two year contract on 15:31 - May 5 with 916 views | Glyn1 | Picking Garry Monk is an evenly balanced decision for most of us, and it appears that the Board was split as well. All of us can see the advantages and drawbacks. But giving him a 2-year contract is fairly irrelevant except for any compo that he'll get if or when he's sacked. In reality he's got a trial period to the transfer window in January, and if we're in trouble then, then we all know that he'll go. I completely agree with the people who are saying that Neil Taylor should have been played more towards the end of the season, and good luck to him if he decides to go and play elsewhere. But doesn't the same situation also apply to Tremmel - i.e. being kept out of the team by someone who isn't playing particularly well? Will Tremmel also go in the summer, or do you think that he is happy to be 2nd choice at a Premier League club? [Post edited 5 May 2014 15:33]

Taylor had a few runs in the team and he was excellent. Tremmel had a run in the team and cost us first place in the Europa League group with error after error. A big difference. It's not hard to see why Tremmel has spent his career as a journey-man keeper in Germany and was out of contract with no one wanting him when he strolled into our training camp in Austria asking for a trial.

There you go again, having a pop at certain players whilst others can do no wrong Taylor is a superb left back but he did cost us the game at Everton to be fair whilst tremmel was outstanding last season including his heroics at Chelsea that got us to wembley. He hasn't been so consistent this season but he will tell you that it's very difficult to retain that match sharpness when all you do is train hard, as he does and not play.
